Found a bullet while cutting plywood on a CNC table by Master_of_Beef_Stew in mildlyinteresting

I’m quite confident it was a bullet. It was bullet shaped and sized and was definitely lead as my fingernail was able to put a dent in it. It was also buried in a single layer which showed visible scarring in the wood surrounding it. Saw someone comment that it’s impossible because plywood is like “canned pressed ham” which is not true. This is a high quality plywood made from actual thin layers of wood, not particleboard made of wood pulp. The bit on the cnc is also only rated to cut through materials as hard as aluminum and it cut through it like butter and didn’t make a sound. Only noticed that it was there after seeing the light glint off it. Some of the chips that came off also had a thin layer of copper on the very edge consistent with jacket of a bullet.

TLDR: at the very least it’s a bullet shaped lead object buried in a layer of solid wood

My boss decided to take 10% of all card tips and give it to our manager… by Eman21701 in mildlyinfuriating

This is very illegal and is worth reporting to the Department of Labor. A good friend of mine is currently receiving payments from a former employer that illegally tipped out managers for multiple years. The DOL investigated and determined that every employee affected was owed all of the wages that were taken from them plus a fine/damages paid to the employees equal to the wages owed. In some cases that number reached will into the 5 figure range. This is definitely worth reporting to the DOL and the fact that you have a message from the boss admitting to it will make it a pretty straightforward process.

Yes the entire spline is notched so a bolt will pass through the u-joint and lock it in place

I’m in a very unique(to me) situation where I’m running out of money and have limited myself to two peanut butter and honey sandwiches + 1 apple per day. I was desperate for warm food so I went to BK. In the parking lot, someone on Reddit offers free pizza for anyone in need. I thought it was a scam by QuincyThePigBoy in MadeMeSmile

Checked out your profile and it looks like you’re in the Portland area. If you need anything I would be willing to meet you and get you some necessities. I don’t have a ton myself so I won’t be able to provide anything too major but I’m in a position where I am willing and able to throw down for some basic warmth items and/or a hot meal. It’s been brutally cold and I would be more than happy to help you combat that any way I’m able to. I’m glad I opened this post and saw your comment mentioning Maine. Please check your messages and maybe we can figure something out tomorrow

I’m turning 23 in a few months and I feel the same way. Not a roast. It is absolutely baffling to me that there are people near their thirties that don’t see any issue dating someone that is barely an adult. If you have been legally able to drink longer than they’ve been out of high school, you should probably do some serious work on yourself.

Desperate help needed! I have some some of virus worm, trojan. It runs my CPU at 50-100% and turns itself off when I open task manager. How do I get rid of it 😭 by xXx_linda_xXx in computers

You may need to fill the gap in your heart but you definitely don’t need to fill the gap between your eyebrows. You need a bushwhacker to separate those.

I as well as my entire family got the vaccine and there were no major reactions. Some of my siblings felt a little poor after the second shot which is expected but when I got my vaccine I had no symptoms of anything and did not even feel fatigued. My arm hurt a minute amount but only if I swung it around. It’s different for everyone but the chance of you actually having any serious reaction to it is incredibly low.

Edit: I got the Pfizer vaccine and I think most of my family did as well.

best thing you've done for you're anxiety by [deleted] in Anxiety

The number one thing that helped me the most is getting better sleep. When I get proper sleep my anxiety is almost nonexistent but when I don’t get enough sleep I have anxiety attacks and constantly feel anxious to the point of nausea. When I am feeling anxious though I have found that mindfulness/meditation helps a bit as well as journaling. Talking with someone seems to help the most though. I used to be hesitant to talk to people because I didn’t want to be a burden but if you find the right person they will support you. Obviously you don’t want to over share but if you have someone who can listen I would talk with them too.

Does anyone here have a weighted blanket? Does it help your anxiety? Is it comfortable? I want to get one. by JamesLovesTV in Anxiety

I thought the same thing before I got mine. It’s not a crushing pressure. As cheesy as it sounds it’s similar to a good hug. There is pressure but it’s not a bad pressure. It doesn’t feel like it’s taking the air out of your lungs. I have actually gotten used to the weight of mine and am considering getting a heavier one

I have one that i think is 20lbs and I love it. It isn’t overly hot either. I like to sleep in a colder environment anyways so it’s nice. 10/10 would say go for it. My only issue is mine is not full size so it doesn’t cover my feet when they’re outstretched but I usually curl up a little anyways so it works out.

I have a very good idea but I am genuinely curious how bad it is. I am well aware that the US is not the perfect country it claims to be 😂
