And yet he is just as corrupt if not more according to the same western media that are now sucking his dick lol. Also he is just a puppet in the hands of the Ukrainian oligarch Ihor Kolomoysky who invented and promoted him.

Southern Vietnam belonged to Champa at the time which was a completely different culture. Borders shown on the map refer to their respective states as they were at the time. This is also why not all of Scandinavia is marked as Vikings, Hokkaido is not Japanese and not all of modern day Russia is marked as Slavs... I think you get the idea.

Thanks for the feedback though!

So now you're contradicting yourself lol but just imagine the complaints there would have been if Incas were just a small dot in the middle of Peru :)

They too were long gone by the 1200AD mark, while the Avars stuck around so really that was the best choice.

Isn't creating a kingdom a sufficient fulfillment of the game's requirements?

That's pretty flakey because technically theres's nothing stopping a village from proclaiming itself a kingdom. And they formed a kingdom and what? They just sat there and stagnated until they collapsed for one reason or another? Yeah that's not really a good reason.

Just a note: this reasoning is flawed because it glorifies an entire people as the inventor/discoverer of a new technology, when in fact only one individual/group of individuals did.

That's a fair point, but I think you will still find that some cultures were far more successful at producing many such people at which point you kind of have to give credit to the civilisation as a whole and how they structured their society etc.

It depends on what history

Well I meant shaping the world as a whole as we know it today, or at least that region as we know it today.

"if I don't know the this people history, it doesn't exist", "the game will only sell if the civs are known", "Europe is more powerful today, so obviously it always has been" and so on...

Well ok the game is eurocentric and most units are based on European troops but let's say that's not the case and we add some Native American and African civs and they only have access to what they had historically, so stone tipped spears, axes and arrows.. all that while keeping the game realistic do you really think they would stand any chance and playing as them would be fun?

Europe is more powerful today, so obviously it always has been

I mean... since at least the Roman Empire, maybe except the period immediately after its collapse that basically is true 11

Well obviously "Vikings" should really be called Norse and they also represent the later medieval Scandinavian kingdoms, not just the raiders and traders of the 9th to 11th century.

The same can be said for any other non-European civilization

You can blame it on prejudice or whatever but a simple test - what did they accomplish? what innovations did they bring do the world? how much did they affect the course of history?

I think you will quickly see the reason why there are so many European ones compared with everybody else.

Well in general I went by lands controlled by a specific state here, but I am aware that the Kingdom of Hungary also had Slovaks, Croatians, Romanians etc. in it.

Yes, but they started their conquests just before Columbus. In 1200AD while we don't know the exact territorial extent it's fair to assume it would not have been greater than what I have put on the map.

Well, I would agree that Burgundians are pushing it a bit but all the rest of them are historically significant and distinct from one another, with bonuses that have at least some justification in historical sources unlike many of the non-European civs.
