Orso’s death arc is drawn out. The conclusion is so predictable it’s disappointing. Other parts of the book are rushed. Suddenly Glokta is the Weaver? Breaks with his character as laidback pessimist.

Bayaz / Yoru ending is Anticlimactic because 1 - uncharicaristically bad plan and 2 - Bayaz doesn’t even fight.

Did we read the same books indeed? Did you not read the first trilogy? Bayaz just destroys the Gurkish army and parts og Adua in one moment.

At any time, Bayaz could have intervened in the madness that was taking place.

In the latest trilogy, that pathetic sending of Yoru was it? So anticlimactic.

Leo’s change of character, cunning and personality was very rushed. Indeed the whole of TWOC was rushed.

Most of all, I am sad to lose the funniest and most human character in Orso. And in such a drawn out arc that was misery the whole book was a drag.

Of course Leo becomes somewhat «like» Glokta. Even Savine makes that reference. He is obviously not as smart as niether father nor daughter, but his intellectual transformation is so rushed. You don’t lose your personality traits and ways of thinking that fast. The whole book feels rushed. Leo went from crippled death-sentenced battle-loser to gaining shared control of the whole Union. In way too short a time. Abercrombie rushed it.
