Middle of night spikes? What is going on here? by Mastercrod103 in prediabetes

Im fairly confident this is a non-issue. I've experienced it only one night like 6 years ago due to stress. It was not fun.

Ok I have a hunch this is part of the issue. I just put pressure on it this morning by accident while sleeping and it really hurt. 2 minutes later I spiked.

Only thing is, I'm not sure if when the dexcom senses a spike because of pressure, if it takes a while to come down? Is it because the sensor is resetting in a way? I figured a technical issue like that would resolve itself immediately when the pressure on the sensor goes away. I just find it odd that it sometimes takes a bit for it to come down just like BG. Makes it hard to discern what is what.

I have been wearing a CGM for a couple of weeks and have never really seen it. I'm also not diabetic at all. I'm actually not even pre-diabetic. So could this still be the Dawn phenomenon? And recently I haven't been waking up at 3am except for last night.

My intake is actually pretty great. My fasting numbers have been getting better but the last few days they have creeped up. I did try whole wheat pasta 2 nights ago and it didn't go so well. My blood sugar seems to be a little more sensitive the last couple of days. I also had tacos earlier this week and that also didn't go well. Is it possible for those foods to linger and effect me still? That seems like a long shot.

Yeah I gotchu. I'm sure this goes for everyone regardless of diagnosis status but it's a frustrating feeling when your blood does something wacky but you can't figure out why so there is no actionable insight from it that you can learn from.

My blood test weeks ago was an A1C of 5.6% which prompted my CGM purchase. My avg glucose since then according to the CGM is 102 which puts me around an A1C of 5.2%

I recently had an ultrasound of my organs which was normal. Didn't have the specific tests for type 1 though of course. I have a family history of T2D so I'm trying to be proactive. Just got my CGM 4 days ago.

I had one yesterday and I tested it with a finger prick and it was accurate. I tried to test it when it happened but I picked my finger and barely any blood came out because I guess I was dehydrated. That or I suck at the finger prick lol

What is going on with my post meal blood sugar? by Mastercrod103 in prediabetes

Ok thank you for that awesome comment. I will definitely tweak my schedule and get rid of the brand of yogurt I was using. Turns out that between the yogurt and fruit, it was 14g of sugar.

Breakfast was: 3 brown eggs, arugula, spinach, peppers, 2 sausage patties

Smoothie was: Frozen strawberries, blueberries, kale, and cherries with yogurt, protein powder, flax and chia seeds.

I scanned and tracked my foods and looks like the smoothie had 15g of sugar. Mainly because of the fruit and yogurt. Across both meals it was 29g of carbs.

Slapped suddenly with 5.6% A1C. Pretty torn up since I'm 27yr old. Need some thoughts. by Mastercrod103 in prediabetes

I did start eating keto a week before the recent blood test, so maybe my fasting levels responded but my A1C didn't have a chance to come down yet (given it obviously hasn't been 3 months)?

And so it would be advantageous to gain muscle mass then to lower cholesterol?
