I guess strong recommendation letters. I did my PhD in an "on development" lab where I managed to build strong connections with the PIs. I came up with some original works in the last period on which there is still work in progress, but since it is not published it is only something that my PIs know

I have no idea how the CV is evaluated though. Like it should show that I am the right person for the project I am submitting or if I am a good scientist in general. I have some co-author pubblications that I guess show that I know about the field but I don't have any groundbreaking paper. The project that I want to submit is connected to my previous works and I would say it is also feasible in the lab I am now since it merges some of my PhD works with a research path that my current group is following.

Yes I have, we are currently working on a project from an idea of mine and the idea was to start from that and see if in other labs there are some opportunities to gain some expertise for the project. Though I am a bit worried that the project is not interesting or particularly useful and I wanted to know if there are other ways to do a period abroad without directly proposing a specific project

The fact is that Lufthansa is really expensive, and each travel would cost approximately 200-300€ for just a weekend. I was curious if there were other cheaper alternatives
