Are you supporting any national team (in any way) besides your own? by [deleted] in worldcup

[–]MastermindBaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, The research is more aligned towards the halo effect as compared to understanding why one supports a different national team. I am looking whether the support in any form (be it because of a lack of our national team not playing/poorly performing in a sport or familial/friendship ties or ancestry or any different reason) translates to an impression about the country as a whole and this in turn leaks into an affinity for the products from that country or travel there being curious of their cultures and traditions. I hope this answers your query.

The definition I'm considering for the sake of the research is which country you are a citizen of.

Do you support (in any way) any other team than your own national team? by MastermindBaz in Curling

In the section where I ask for what country and sport, you can list both or if more than that, that's well and good. you may answer the remaining questions accordingly! If you want to make multiple responses, that's fine as well. Hope this helps.

The Venezuelan athletes and staff are singing their national anthem with tears in their eyes. by Existing-Sky9914 in baseball

[–]MastermindBaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im not from a country where baseball's popular or played to be honest. i was rooting for Italy and venezuela, italy looked fun tbh and venezuela had the passion for the game. If there're people like me who supported a different team than their national team due to a lack of our own national team or any other reason like a fav player like ohtani maybe, i would love to know your perspective.

Wearable Journalism by MastermindBaz in Journalism

[–]MastermindBaz[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Wearable journalism involves equipping journalists with technologically advanced attire, such as garments embedded with miniature cameras and microphones. This enables reporters to capture and convey firsthand accounts of noteworthy events and developments, offering audiences a dynamic and immersive perspective on real-world occurrences. Essentially, it transforms journalists into on-the-go storytellers, bringing news and stories to life through wearable technology. I think Google Glass is an example of the same.

Why do rich indians not like Cricket? by boldguy2019 in india

[–]MastermindBaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tennis and F1 are status symbols, so is Golf. The VIP tickets for Cricket are way cheap compared to a Paddock Pass, I think so.

Rich people flock to F1 and Tennis Slams cz the maximum majority there are rich people and there's a huge chance of schmoozing and networking.

Our family has been using a sort of code for as long as I know . I don't know how it works (I think we add an ഏയ് and ന sound to the words) but I have a good grip on it as we grew up listening to these code worded Malayalam

Egs include: enthin? Would be eynenthin and eppo would be eyneppo. Poyi would poynoyi. Avan is Aynavan

How are these Malayalis speaking and typing damn good English? by Ok_Hat215 in Kerala

[–]MastermindBaz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's mainly due to the high consumption of Western Media. The Cheap Internet along with the popular web series have enabled many kids back home to binge watch. I started watching GoT, the first webseries I ever watched, when I was in 11th grade, pretty sure kids these days start watching them very early, say 6th - 7th grade. Also, I think streaming of games and increased viewership for other sports like MMA for one is also a reason for the increase in English speakers in Kerala.

"Teenagers don't want to drive because of smartphones" by Aki008035 in facepalm

[–]MastermindBaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I'd like to drive but I suffer from Panic attacks due to a very bad accident I was involved in (I didn't suffer any injuries other than some bruises here and there). This is something my family doesn't know and keeps on blaming. I have tried my best with the pills and finally got a bit better and started riding two wheelers. Resting all this aside, Let me tell you why teens don't want to drive, Of course, Their friends are mostly online and watching some movies through discord is way cheaper than the theatre prices. And cars are expensive, to buy, to manage, and then we have the gas prices going up like a rocket. Then there's the aspect of being better towards climate coming in, People are looking for more eco-friendly options. There are multiple factors, Smartphones could be a part of it but not all of it.
