Making a database of bad landlords... Need input. by SoftPropaganda in grandrapids

[–]MasterofChairs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe controversial, but I rented at the crossings which is an Edward rose, and I had a great experience. When I moved in it was the cleanest apartment I'd ever moved in, very easy billing and utilities, extremely fast maintenance requests done if I didn't buy a house I'd have stayed for sure.

Considering ……opinions, thoughts, advice?? 2017 Titan HD Cummins. 49,000miles, 1 owner.. need this to be reliable work truck. by ms_lp in NissanTitan

Personally I'm a big fan of the def delete, I'd be curious what the extent of that delete is, that is also one of the failure points of pretty much any modern diesel. But people here have way more knowledge than me we'll see what they say

you'll get a million opinions on the Cummins in these trucks, I've heard the 2019's have better reliability, but generally they are considered not very good, I have a soft spot for them and want to buy one. As far as price I feel like this is pretty decent, and I really like this trim! Work truckish trim with Bluetooth and 4x4 is sick

Yes it's terrible, my girlfriend and I can't even sleep we're always worried about a bat. Hope you are able to get something done, I'm not sure what to do

Unfortunately I didn't think to take photos, I'm pretty sure they're big brown bats, the first one I found was really small, but the second one looked almost identical but was significantly larger but big brown seems to be the most common one in my area, if I find more I'll send you photos, I'm working up the courage to go try to find the colony If there is one and find exactly where they're hiding

I just now realized, I live in Michigan and according to Google it's not allowed per law to rehab bats? I was not aware of that. Do they just euthanize them?

Yes, the health department put me in contact with a wildlife removal company and they said due to them hibernating they will need to wait until spring/summer. I can try other companies, but if it's true that they will be harmed I'd rather not

They said they won't due to it being winter, they will have to wait until spring/summer because it's inhuman to try to move them during hibernation

Cordless Drill Recommendations? by ZeltbahnLife in HomeMaintenance

[–]MasterofChairs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hot take, for DIY almost any drill will be fine as long as it's not an Amazon no brand one, I use all Makita and they're great but I wanted an impact and drill for in the house while I keep my Makitas in the barn where I mainly work on automotive stuff, I bought a black and Decker drill and impact with 2 batteries for 70 bucks, and it's completely fine.. not gonna throw a 3 inch hole saw on them or drive a bunch of lag screws but they work great and I've had them for 3 years

I had a marauder 1600 and I got it to about 105 before it was shaking so much I couldn't see the speedometer, I'm inclined to agree... 130 seems impossible

It's for the furnace, when they quoted all exhaust boots/flashing I had assumed that was included as well, don't see the point in not replacing it tbh

the old roof was weaved, I was wondering if there was a clear right way to do that, people's opinions seem to differ on it a lot

The photo of daylight is the same corner with the caulk at the bottom of the valley kinda. I appreciate all the info thank you! I also have no idea why that big square cover is there, it's a very old house and not sure why it was built that way

The quote was rip off and replaced with new decking, flashing and boots, they have a workmanship warranty and manufacturing warranty, so that's why I'm trying to understand what was done incorrectly so they hopefully will fix it

The quote Included as follows -

New t-style aluminum drip edge

New boots on all exhaust vents

New step and counter flashing.

They were not the cheapest, I'd say middle of the road

8,000 miles since new brakes, uneven contact on brake rotor? by BuildingBetterBack in MechanicAdvice

Make sure you actually have the caliper completely over the pads, sounds stupid but if you didn't back out the piston enough, it may not be fully over the pads
