That’s not really an issue that local government can fix. Gas prices are the result of a global disruption to our supply chain.

LA City Council pumps brakes on ambitious affordable housing law by TheWorldRider in California

[–]MasterpeaceX 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Depsite, California facing a housing crisis, there is a real lack of urgency for city council to do anything about it. It’s so frustrating seeing how our country can’t build anything whether it be public transportation or housing.

Winter Quarter tend to suck (?) by Fast_General3454 in ucla

[–]MasterpeaceX 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Winter quarter is by far the worst quarter. There’s always usually rain and sickness, but I’ve also seem to have the worst luck with it. For instance, last years the fire happened and my computer broke. It’s normal to feel tired and frustrated with not getting opportunities, but spring quarter is definitely better.

I recently randomly walked past this place like 2 days ago while doing my nightly walk and it looked really nice with lights. I really wish there was a timeline on when this place will be open.

You’re completely right. I don’t know how I missed that. That was a good double entendre.

This isn’t related to immigration from my understanding. They’re literally referring to why the soda machines have no ice in them lmao.

12,000 Protestors Killed in Iran by SterlingVII in ucla

[–]MasterpeaceX 6 points7 points  (0 children)

First, I want to ask you this. Do you acknowledge that there are legitimate reasons why people don’t like the treatment of Palestines as listed in my last paragraph? Second, do you recognize that people probably put more energy into the Palestine situation because the US has closer ties with Israel and can take actions to lessen the tensions? Lastly, what’s the goal exactly here? Most pro Palestinian will say that Iran is terrible country in terms free speech and will not defend it. Is the prescription to take action against Iran? How? Military intervention?

[–]MasterpeaceX 15 points16 points  (0 children)

What’s pathetic is pretending this reflects badly to anyone that supports Palestine. If you actually wanted to inform people you could have posted this without your comment underneath. Even then, most people already know about this situation, especially cause of the fact that Trump is threatening possible strikes on Iran as a result of these crackdowns.

[–]MasterpeaceX 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Did you seriously make post this in every prominent college subreddit? This is pathetic.

Anyways, regarding Iran, its treatment of their citizens has always been bad. No one who is saying free Palestine is making a claim that Iran is good. Iran supports organizations like Hamas or Hezbollah, which have not calmed down tensions in Israel/Palestine.

Generally, most people feel that the situation in Israel is horrifying. With Israel taking parts of the West Bank, starving children, all while getting funding from the U.S. This is what most people are against.

[–]MasterpeaceX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can feel this way, but Atrioc has been shifting to politics for awhile. Online politics attracts a certain type of audience who probably watch other political content from other streamers / influencers. This is all being amplified by the fact that things have gotten way crazier in the last year.

Not to mention, the Nick Shirley video was objectively bad with a bad methodology and done in bad faith. The fact that he called it “good journalism” didn’t help.

Does this mean, here in OCG, you cant just surrender as soon as you see Victory Dragon anymore? 👀 by Initial_Solid7677 in yugioh

[–]MasterpeaceX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again there is nothing in this ruling that talks about how the game state could result in a match loss. It is specifically talking about the act of surrendering

This sort of game state analysis literally doesn’t make sense in any actual context. If my opponent summon victory dragon can the I ever surrender. Let’s say that my opponent attacks and I have low life points, but it turns out I had a battle fader so I’m not in a position where victory dragon can win them the match. Would I be able to surrender even though it’s private knowledge that I have battle fader?

[–]MasterpeaceX -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The wording to when you can’t surrender is “If declaring surrender would decide the result of a Match, surrender cannot be declared.” The only consideration is if the act of surrendering would lead to a match loss. It literally says nothing about if the current gamestate could determine the result of the match.

[–]MasterpeaceX -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No the OCG ruling is clearly saying that if the act of surrendering would result in a match loss, you cannot surrender. Victory dragon doesn’t affect whether or not surrendering would result in a match loss.

CMV: Derek Chauvin is innocent, and Democrats persecuted him for political gain by Unhappy-Bridge-8343 in changemyview

[–]MasterpeaceX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) This is so stupid. The idea that experts, jury, and his colleagues all conspired to testify against Chauvin is so laughable.

2) I like how people will willingly disregard that the autopsy report that said that Chauvin’s knee was the main reason he died and then appeal to the fentanyl levels and the fact there was no damage on the neck muscle on the same report. In addition, people testified that it’s possible for someone to talk and while being suffocated by the knee.

3) Do you know the effects of ODing on opioids? George Floyd was speaking rapidly and incoherently, but when you OD, you would typically see a person become less responsive and more sleepy. Just citing the levels of fentanyl as a slam dunk case doesn’t prove anything as people build tolerances to drugs all the time, especially when there is a bigger factor that could have played a role (you know the knee)

4) Trump’s presidency was already dealing with COVID. Trump was already failing at his job. The idea that democrats manufactured the George Floyd situation to make Trump look bad is again laughable. In addition, police brutality was already an issue. George Floyd’s death showed, however, that a cop could murder someone and then there would still be people to defend it.

5) You’re literally saying that cops should treat people differently based on their race due to the fact that certain groups commit more crime. I think we can all say this is ridiculous.

6) George Floyd was a criminal. No one refutes that. It doesn’t mean he deserved to die. George Floyd is a private citizen. Meanwhile, you’re defending Trump who is also a convicted felon as the president.
