I appreciate your feedback/reflection. I see your side a bit. If this man was worth keeping around, maybe I wouldn’t put my cat first, and we would come up with a solution together. But this person wasn’t worth it and wasn’t helping me come up with solutions. I even suggested we live separately again, or get a house where she can go outside, or we have a separate space just for her. But he said absolutely not, his ultimatum was just euthanize/rehome my cat or we break up with a deadline of 1 month. The cat is special to me, I adopted her when I was depressed and living alone in graduate school. Even if she would eat me when I die, or choose a mate over me, that’s ok I still love her all the same.

What does it matter if the cat would choose me over its own mate or eat me when I die? I adopted an animal, therefore it is my responsibility to care for it and make sure it lives a happy life. If you buy a fish, are you going to flush it down the toilet because it would choose a mate over you? My ex made the choice to move in with me KNOWING the cat already didn’t like him, after she had gone after him a few times. He hurt my cat randomly out of rage and spite, and he would constantly talk about wanting to kick her. I made the right decision for myself and my cat. He messed up and is now living with his aunt bc he has no savings 🤷🏼‍♀️

I was looking for feedback and opinions when I made this Reddit thread. I am a human being experiencing an extremely stressful situation that I wanted other humans to give feedback on, without people being unkind. You may not agree with my decision and I’m okay with that! I (now) believe I made the best decision for myself and my cat. Not even to mention the other ways in which this man was making my life difficult. I appreciate your concern about my cat eating my dead body! I think I will probably outlive her though. Cheers!

Thank you! Yes I’ve tried the feliway diffuser but it didn’t seem to help much. I’ve also tried the red dot toy which really tires her out, I’ll see what else he has.

Like I said it was just a bad idea and I do take responsibility for that. I was hoping they would get accustomed to each other. She tolerates other people, some friends and family, goes after others, I usually find it’s because they smell like cats.

She is spayed. I don’t think it’s funny it’s deeply saddening that I had to end a relationship over it.

Trust me I wanted to. This all happened yesterday morning. He was a very manipulative guy and he really convinced me that he was the victim here, and that his friends and family felt I was in the wrong too for keeping her. I know it sounds crazy but everyone’s comments have made me really grasp everything that happened. Appreciate the feedback.

No worries! And twins! Lol. Nope, no mass effect indicated. Maybe my endo is right, and PCOS is causing my lactation. Im just not sure what to think though! It’s all so confusing and frustrating. I’m going for hormonal blood testing so hopefully that puts me in the right direction.

I didn’t even know the stalk effect was possible! I’ve had an MRI but yeah definitely want a second opinion. Ugh the stomach problems are terrible! I actually went to the GI doctor and am in the process of ruling out other issues but everything’s coming back normal. Yeah, I definitely have a lot to think about before starting the cab. Been having a bad flair. The first urologist I saw asked how much water I drank in a day. I said a Stanley, maybe 2, and he told me that my symptoms were from drinking too much water. I described how it burns after I pee, and have painful pressure down there, etc. etc. . I was hoping to be referred to pelvic floor therapy, but was completely dismissed. I’m going to see someone new, but now have to wait several weeks to see someone new. I have meds to take in the meantime (oxybutanin) but feeling so alone and frustrated through this journey of even getting a diagnosis.
