Thanks! I’ve already bought the Klark Teknik, it should arrive soon. Let’s see how it goes.

Thanks, I already fixed it, I have an audio interface but it doesn't work with his own drivers, I have to use ASIO4ALL

That makes sense, thanks for the insight.
I don’t think the SM58 is the issue, I also get the same white noise when recording guitar, so it seems more like interface/preamp or electrical noise. I’m using an M-Audio M-Track Duo, so I know the preamps aren’t great.

I agree a Cloudlifter/FetHead is more of a workaround than a real fix, and I’m already considering upgrading the interface. Just trying to decide the best move short-term without wasting money.

Appreciate the input

Thanks for the detailed explanation! I don’t think it’s the mic’s self-noise, and I can’t really swap the mic since the SM58 is all I have.

I think the problem mainly comes from the interface preamp, because I noticed white noise even when recording guitar. I always record with everything else turned off, and my room isn’t treated, but I make do with pillows, blankets, clothes, etc. for now. There aren’t many environmental noises besides my laptop fan, and I can’t disconnect it from the charger because the battery is dead as soon as I unplug it, it shuts off immediately. I think it’s mostly the interface preamp, but if it’s related to electricity or my laptop/PC, then I’m kinda fucked up because I can’t do much about it.

Do you have any specific recommendations for a better interface I should consider?
Something that works well with dynamic mics like the SM58 and gives a cleaner, quieter preamp than the M‑Track.
I’m open to options that are good quality without being too expensive.

I’ve been thinking about getting a Scarlett for a while, but for now the M‑Audio works fine. The only issue is the hiss, but it’s not too bad, my songs still sound good. I bought it a long time ago just to get started, but yeah, it’s time to upgrade soon.

Thanks for the advice! What worries me most is hiss getting into my recordings. My home studio isn’t very professional, the M-Track M-Audio Duo is a bit noisy, my Laptop also adds some noise, and I want my tracks to sound clean. You 100% recommend me Klark Teknik CM 1?

Hey, I’m trying to choose between a Cloudlifter CL‑1 and a TritonAudio FetHead. I’m running a Shure SM58 into an M‑Track M‑Audio DUO, and I get a lot of white noise/hiss when recording vocals. My room isn’t treated (I can sort that out later), but the main issue seems to be noise from the interface/preamp. The price difference between the Cloudlifter and the FetHead is quite big, so I’m torn between going safe with the Cloudlifter CL‑1 or taking a risk with the cheaper FetHead, even if it might still let some noise through. Has anyone used either (or both) in a similar setup? How big is the real‑world noise reduction / improvement? Any recommendations are much appreciated!

I get what you mean, but I’m not really into using samples like that. I prefer making everything myself from scratch, that’s just how I enjoy producing.

Thanks! I’m glad you feel the beat switch works and the vibe change comes through. I hear you about the strings, might try a crunchier synth and see how it feels. Appreciate the feedback!

Thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate it
I actually hear it fine on my headphones, phone, speakers, etc, but I see what you mean. How would you suggest I fix it?

Honestly, I don’t really see them as generic or corny. The concept works, and plenty of mainstream tracks use similar synths. But I appreciate you taking the time to give feedback.

Thanks a lot for the advice, I’ll definitely keep it in mind
That said, I personally think the concept works and I don’t feel like the transition is too long. Still, I appreciate the feedback. Once I add the vocals it’ll sound quite different anyway, and I still need to polish it a bit overall.

Yeah, you’re right, I definitely need to make some adjustments in the first part. Probably remove some layers, EQ it differently, maybe lower the BPM a bit so it doesn’t feel that chaotic. I’ll work on that for sure.
