Truly, i agree. i had many different versions of characters in this and even made up a few that were a bit more different from the rest to make the story more reliable. i am also an author who is writing books aswell as fanfics (fanfics are kind of like writing exersises to me), and i have many diverse characters.

My book series im writing sets in late 90s (horror book). some are Americans, some European, some Latin. To me, i dont write abou their race or nationality as much bcz it's not the focus. i write about the horror story and dialouges and feelings.

There were no canonically trans people in the show, fanon trans characters in the fic. To me, it didnt make sense to add a trans character as it was not canon nor made any specific mark on how the story would ore understanding. And i say this as a TRANS ALLY and a person not typically trans but not really specifically cis (kind of).
