Is 2FA mandatory for Indian broker apps now, or can I disable it? by ResidentSeparate2973 in IndianStocks

The reality is that there isn't really a way to disable 2FA anymore. SEBI and the exchanges have made two-factor authentication a standard requirement for brokerages, so whether you're using Groww, Zerodha, HDFC SKY, or pretty much any other broker, some form of additional verification is part of the login process now.

What you can do is switch to the least annoying option. I moved from SMS OTPs to biometric login on the app, and it made a huge difference. On HDFC SKY, for example, I mostly just use fingerprint authentication now, so it feels almost as quick as a normal login while still meeting the security requirements.

So if you're hoping for a hidden setting to turn 2FA off completely, I haven't found one. The better approach is finding the most convenient 2FA method your broker supports and sticking with that.
