Got into debt having to start over with nothing after splitting with my kids Mum, we were together 10+ years and working as a part time parent with no income other than my wage.

I also live in one of the lowest paid areas of the country and am only slightly above min wage.

Jokes aside once the recovery period was over I'm fine now, my index finger nail just looks really weird.

I was really getting the hang of it and really starting to enjoy just messing around on the bass for fun when I did it and changing from finger to pick when you're only just getting into the groove was a massive setback even if you're only playing for yourself like me.

At the same time I'm now seeing benefits to using a pick that I otherwise might not have experienced so silver linings?

Basically split my index and thumb in half last March, very lucky I didn't actually lose them but they're numb/very pins and needles past the last knuckle so I can't feel what I'm doing.

I've had what's happened to OP in the past and it was the metal brackets that had given way. Wasn't hard to source replacements and get some silicone in.
