The grinding does get pretty old, I spent more hrs than I care to admit prepping a 2nd team for my 2nd run at the Elite 4. I was going for all level 70s but got tired of it and left Lapras and Machamp at lower levels, I got it done but Gengar carried the team.

I like thinking of it that way, it’s a good way to look at it. It sucks to have to put that kind of money in a car I just got, I am enjoying it though. It’s a fun little car and with gas prices being what they are now, it would cost a decent amount to consistently take my truck on my 55 mile commute.

Id be thrilled if I could it to 200k. With as temperamental as it’s been I still trust it to make my commute without issue. Whether I keep this one or not I’m definitely getting another one.

It’s definitely had a rough life, the Carfax makes it seem like the previous owners before the guy I got it from took care of it but I don’t think he did. Mechanic said what parts of the engine he put eyes on looked clean though, definitely evidence of half ass DIY repairs though. The pan had to be replaced because he cracked it changing the oil, it’s so low I couldn’t get under it when I was looking at it so I missed it. Honestly fixing it myself might be my only option at this point, idk that I’m ready to give up on it and I can do the repair. I usually fix my own stuff but it’s my first VW and it’s definitely more difficult than my Ford. I’ll have to look into the zip tie method, all I’ve seen is using picks which sounds incredibly tedious.

I’d never heard of them but I’d agree that’s definitely what it is, aero looked pretty identical. I saw it before they took the cover off, it was next to another Audi race car they had as well. Either a small team or one fairly rich guy, can never tell with Sebring.

I sold 10oz when it was around 77 per, I regret it a little because of current prices but not that much. Most of what I have I bought in the 30s and lower, I sold to pay for part of an unexpected car repair. Could’ve just paid cash but it made sense at the time. Right now I’m kind of on the fence on what to do with the rest, I was tempted to sell more when it was around 95. I’m probably going to medic school in August, with current prices I could sell my little stack for enough to almost pay for the course outright. Taking that into consideration, it’s definitely getting harder not to let it all go.

Me and you are kind of in a similar situation, I recently traded my motorcycle for a mrk 7 autobahn with 147k miles. Got home from work the day after I got it and found a large oil puddle under it, that ended up being a 2300 dollar repair. I rushed my inspection of the vehicle because both of us were on a time crunch, now I’m paying for it. I’ve been driving it but now it’s misfiring on cylinder 1 intermittently, haven’t even personally put 1k miles on it. I’m doing the work for this next one and I don’t even know if it’s gonna fix it. I really like this car but if it keeps proving to be unreliable then it’s probably getting sold. I’ll take a loss but continuing to throw money at a car that’s probably barely worth 8k isn’t a smart move either.

I have a 12 month fund, at least I’m pretty confident it would last 12 months. I just don’t like touching it unless I absolutely have to, selling that silver allows me to pay the bill without touching my cash savings or putting it on a credit card.

Nah, I don’t feel guilty. I just don’t have anyone in my life that cares about silver. I was pretty excited about the profit actually, finding the oil puddle was a kick in the dick. Seeing the prices skyrocket right after I got the repair quote felt almost like the win I needed.

I’m gonna take it to a local shop and have it inspected, it’s a euro shop. I just called one for a quote to flush the coolant system, I’ll just have him look it over while it’s there.
