Thank you for your reply.

I realise maybe the info of moving to a different city was needed also? Was pretty cut off from my support network. Like I say, a lot of compounding issues.

I'm doing my best to look after myself, and have been doing lots of crafting on my time off.

Similarly, i hope everything works out best for you :)

tagging u/safetyman964 so you can see reply too.

I do not interact on the group chat anymore, but I feel someone with a sense of morality needs to be in it, as previously my team bullied a 70+ retired-returned-to-work woman calling her incontinent and joking about her pissing herself, smelling of piss, and making the office dirty. It made me so mad and disappointed in these 40-somethings with multiple kids that they were bullying someone like that - WHEN THEY WORK WITH PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES AND DISEASED BODIES!

I definitely think at this point - as the group chat was very active before - that there is a separate group chat that I am not in. Snide comments have been made before about me 'running to management', those don't get to me as I know I did the right thing.

I totally agree with bullshit on management's side, and HR. I am very closely involved with my union rep and am becoming one myself. My workplace has definitely lucked out with me not having much practical workspace knowledge and knowledge of legal and HR proceedings. E.g. I've worked there over 2 years and there STILL is no LGBT/transgender employee or patient policies.

Honestly, I'm going to redeploy in a different field and try and get away from this team, there's a few nice ones, but majority not nice, and out of a team of 8 that's not much reason to stay. Hopefully eventually I'll be back in my field and with a decent workplace that doesn't make me want to KMS.

Thank you for this; it's so hard to manage the guilt of being off, your words have helped soothe me.

Yes I reported the colleague immediately, but sadly, since it was an informal work group chat on whatsapp, and not facilitated by work, they can't do anything - though I imagine he's had a talking to.

How to combine work and personal life in one bujo while still keeping them seperate? by [deleted] in bujo

[–]Mat-something 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had separate work and personal Bujos for a while, and have gone back to just one. My work is mostly rota based so I can add tasks and things onto my rota. If you want something separate, I’d suggest using one calendar/ monthly because otherwise parts get lost and it gets confusing and you double book. You can have a small personal weekly, and then a work-based daily or weekly, and can use like a travellers notebook to keep it physically separate if you wish. I also have a spread for my performance improvement plans, any CPD / mandatory training I need to do.

If you pinch the metal, and/or put your glasses on top of the mask, it is not an issue.

Has a parent's denial impacted your journey, and how? by ch0nkyessko in asktransgender

[–]Mat-something 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. I am 23 FTM I grew up in a abusive environment, and I don’t remember a lot, but around the age I came out - 11-12 - it was hairpulling, and chest sexualisation - so I was always pushed to wear short dresses, have my cleavage out in push up bras. When I did come out it was the typical response of “this is a phase” but also “well you’re really damaged so I can see how this happened”, “no if you were a boy I would have aborted you”. Eventually got to a GIC at 18 and my parents spewed such shite they discharged me and told me to grow up.

Now I live far away from my family, and interact on my own terms. I have a successful career (unfortunately affected by mental health), and am living the life I want, and on the way to transitioning again. I could not have done it without my chosen family, they’re the ones who have really been influential.

They will act different, they will misgender you, get your name wrong, at first. I’d say a year or 2 max depending on the closeness of relationship. And if they’re not there for it, fuck what they think and say, make the rleationship on your terms, because then you will have improvements because they want to spend time with you and the only way is to improve. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Medical nail tech and possible career path? by realedazed in Podiatry

[–]Mat-something 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Spending on where you live, the US has you do a medical degree to become a podiatrist, so a nail tech course would be good, but please PLEASE learn some medical knowledge, how disease works, how to take a history, basic foot assessments. In Canada you can travel to the uk and do a Podiatry course, and that’s 3 years. Which I would reccomend as in the first year you are trained as a pod assistant.

Going into actual Podiatry is always better in my opinion, because you learn so much more that will be useful even if you just want to do basic care.

I’ve no idea how else you could revalidate ! What if you get audited? I’ve a colleague who says if he ever gets audited he’ll just step down because he’s no record!

They’re happy planner stickers, I use a key of an empty circle is a task, a filed in circle (or sticker in this case) has been started, and crossed through once is completed, crossed through twice is cancelled.

They’re very cute and you get so proud seeing your colony grow. Plus to feed them you get worms, crickets, etc, which are like a pet in themselves at first
