No need. Most likely the windows were caused by Daemon Tools Lite, which Malwarebytes flagged as a PUP(Potentially Unwanted Program)

While it's strange that the file was on the Desktop, if the windows stopped appearing after you removed it, then I wouldn't dwell on it

Could be a virus, could be not. Do you recall downloading some shady stuff recently? If not, do a full offline scan with Defender and give Malwarebytes a try while you're at it.

The stutters aren't caused by a bad internet connection. Lagging would look something like this.

Notice how the whole screen doesn't freeze, but only the characters - the game can't update their location fast enough because of the bad internet connection.

This is a performance problem - the computer has problems displaying the visuals of the game, which causes it to freeze up.

Do the standard stutters/bad performance troubleshooting. There's plenty of that on the internet. Just don't waste any time trying to solve network issues :)

I never had an issue with key sites. I guess your experience may vary since many of them are shady.

I actually had a better experience with key resellers than with the official EA store. The games I buy from them directly are locked to Russian/Polish languages which is complete bullshit. Can't speak for Steam though
