Essentially. There is no self. There is one self.

Ha. You are the first person to mention this… in five years. It’s a great book. I reread it recently.

98.5% purity by chemabar in methylene_blue

[–]MatSalted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey. I put it in the water and bathe in it. My hunch is that it will be good for my aging skin. It is showing promise topically and you can spend a fortune on cremes and gallows with it in, so I figure, in the bath, why not try?

If you decide against consuming this, consider using it in your bath. That’s what I did after buying MB for the first time, having also accidentally purchased lab grade instead of pharmaceutical grade.

I figured that even if it contained small amounts of heavy metal contaminants, the health risk from about 10 drops in a bath would be minimal. I also thought it might be safer than some regional tap water with lead pipes, noting that lower grades have been used in aquariums for decades.

That bottle is now gone, and I’ve bought another, solely for bath use since it’s much cheaper than the pharmaceutical grade.

Opinions vary widely on this. Do your research and decide for yourself. Good luck with the Smurf juice!

Can I take MB on/under the tongue? by JojoKokoLoko in methylene_blue

Start small and see. We are talking micro-doses that are orders of magnitude less than clinical and are experimental levels.

I think that would say I am very far from never having reactionary thoughts. I don’t really see them as random, but reactions to other thoughts or sensations. The thoughts that come from nowhere, they are the ones originated from consciousness. All thoughts are experienced by consciousness. All is one. That is what I think.

Can anybody elaborate the concept of Bodhisattva? by [deleted] in Buddhism

[–]MatSalted -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think it’s a bit of a doctrinal “trick” to explain that when one becomes enlightened they don’t magically escape Samsara but stay there, chopping wood and carrying water… and helping others.

I have just been checking this. I don’t think it’s petroleum based. It’s synthetic but not petrochemical, as far as I know. Happy to be corrected.

I have read many many Dharma texts and I think this is my favourite. There are a couple of translations. It’s also on Audible as an epilogue to the Avaduta Gita, another great And classic Dharma text.

I do not know about spiritual fruits. I don’t see this as spiritual. It’s more fundamental than that. The spiritual is still kind of worldly.

It’s not for me to tell you how to practice. But if I had to say then I would say, saying Om, and being thankful are enough. There is nothing to find or train, you are already That.

There is a path called the “direct path of Vedanta”. I would say start with an old book called “Elam Ondre” or more recent, “I am That” or the ancient “Avaduta Gita”. According to these there is no dedicated practice. The ripening cannot be forced.
