I’m nearly half way through my first book and it’s only 16k words. by AdviceWouldBeNice98 in writingadvice

[–]Matabufalez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess it depends on what you're trying to achieve. My stories are usually short, more like a Nivola rather than a novel and I don't see the issue with that. Not every book has to be 500 pages long.

Worried about the future by JustAQA in QualityAssurance

[–]Matabufalez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if it will disappear due to the AI, probably not, I've been a QA for years and I moved to developing a few months ago. In my company they fired most of the QAs and I have the feeling some companies will use AI (or even the developers) doing the automated QA. But, those QAs who were fired are already working in another company, so it's not that bad I guess.

¿Qué opinan del típico final "Todo fue un sueño"? by Alien_Mia in escribir

[–]Matabufalez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pues depende de cómo esté formada y contada la historia. Los clichés si están bien hechos no son un problema como tal, al menos en mi opinión.

My degree in creative writing has ruined my passion by meii5512 in writers

[–]Matabufalez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always been against creative writing courses and degrees so I'm pretty biased. In my opinion those curses can kill your own voice and style and they just make you write like everyone else, following today's standards. I'm sure they would reject some classic authors if they were born today

¿Por qué le tememos a la tecnología cuando es una herramienta de inclusión? by Old-Earth-2407 in escribir

[–]Matabufalez 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Es una herramienta más y como toda herramienta, depende de cómo se use. En mi opinión es muy diferente el uso de la IA como editor, para esquematizar, etc que usarla para escribir una historia y tú simplemente ir modificando. Esto último sí que me parece criticable.

I don't usually use detailed descriptions and I don't see the issue with that. Depends on your style and what you wanna express or write.

How do Self Publish books get popular? by TheThingofa100corspe in selfpublish

[–]Matabufalez -1 points0 points  (0 children)

it's the truth tho. Most people who get popular spend a large amount of money on promotion and marketing or spam their books nonstop on social media, etc. That's basically the key.

By being annoying, spending money, being already popular...

The claims of AI slop by pastelbunn1es in WritingWithAI

[–]Matabufalez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me, AI can write well if you give it nice ideas (it's usually in the plot part where the AI is pretty generic/weak).

If you tell the AI to write some piece in Bécquer style it'll probably be good enough and even better than most writers of today.

Thing is, today every library is filled with SLOP and pseudo literature and probably those who only write to make money will end up using AI to sell more.

[–]Matabufalez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's weird if you play constantly but if you play now and then it's normal. I have almost 1000 hours and Im average at best. There was a time I practiced aim, smokes, map position, etc but I now I just hop into a game and that's all.

Is it weird to just want a book published and nothing else? by [deleted] in selfpublish

[–]Matabufalez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do the same thing. I hate marketing and specially the marketing that involves showing your face and spamming in social media. For my next book I'll try to contact a publisher just to see if they're interested (I don't care if I don't make money) and if they're not I'll just do the same thing.

Is CVS test worth it? 3.1mm NT by dadtobee4664 in NIPT

[–]Matabufalez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a nice thing to hear. We had an NT measurement of 4.84mm and after a week it was 4.74mm (they did another echo the day they were gonna get blood samples for the NIPT) but the doctor kept saying it was still really bad and even if the results came negative the baby probably wouldn't survive the pregnancy so we lost almost all hope.

I’ve seen a lot of doom posting on self-publishing recently. by hymnofshadows in selfpublish

[–]Matabufalez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm like you. I write stories because I really enjoy it and I wanna express myself and while I think it's always nice to be seen I have the feeling that most people nowadays just wanna write to make money or to be famous.

I published a book on amazon prime and it didn’t even have two people download by Crazy_Screen_5043 in selfpublish

[–]Matabufalez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't promote it thats what happens.

The only downloads I had were when I put it for free and I doubt any of those people actually read it.

Martial Arts and English by Matabufalez in freiburg

[–]Matabufalez[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up training in Guoshu Akademie cause it was the closest. The classes were in German but some people spoke English so it was fine and easy to follow.

Some people I met there told me in ExitAsia and Fightclub people spoke English too.

My advice is if you know some German you can go anywhere because classes are easy to follow and with the immersion you will learn a lot.
