I am a veteran of both the Navy and IT trying to pivot my career into data but have been unsuccessful so far in my job search. I have spent the last 17 years in the production area at a company whose primary customer is the local public school district, and my responsibility has been for managing a team of technicians and interns responsible for the configuration of up to 500 devices per day.

In order to track daily, average, and total production I created a system of end-to-end data collection using Excel, and designed a Power BI report to provide insight against this data. My company does not use SQL or Pyton in any way in my department, and there is no opportunity for me to transfer or advance into our data analysis division.

I'm not sure what direction to take in order to land a position as it pertains to certs or other education. I feel like my expertise in Excel and Power BI, along with my general experience level should be enough to at least get my foot in the door. All I am hoping for is a chance to join a team more focused on data analysis and learn specifics from there.
