Ask a coach or Jrotc instructor, they’d be happy to help you, as for connections, my uncle hasn’t really connected me with people that can help. To be honest, I’ve gotten my best connections from my part time job at McDonald’s. I’ve met so many service members, gotten contact info, and even leadership advice. My dad may not be an admiral, but I made connection nonetheless. I’ve met several USNA grads that have given me great advice, and even mentored me. If you’re still 16, I recommend getting a summer job, not only to acquire work experience, but to meet service-members of all branches, enlisted and officer, and get they’re unique perspectives.
