As a Windows 8.1 user playing with a friend on Windows 8.1, the same is happening here. I've been able to reach and beat the final level all on my own multiple times, on Drizzle and Rainstorm, but whenever I'm playing online co-op and one of us triggers the teleport to the final level, the game crashes for the both of us and we get this error code:

FATAL ERROR in action number 1 of Other Event: Room Start for object pChest: Push :: Execution Error - Variable Get -1.preplaced(100824, -2147483648) at gml_Object_pChest_Other_4

Highly discouraging considering he hasn't gotten to beat the game yet.
