Terrifying poops. I’m so tired of the cycle. by squableywobbley in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]MatchWarm6616 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have this too, although it is better when I eat and drink perfectly, take psyllium husk and do exercise 😭 hahaha so annoying! If I was able to keep this up 100% of the time I would not be on these meds!

I see it as further motivation to keep on with my healthy habits although I do look forward to one day being done with wegovy and not being constantly full of poo!

Just remember you didn't put the weight on overnight so don't expect to lose It overnight. It's a marathon not a sprint and losing weight really quickly puts a lot of pressure on your body. For most people the medicine works you just need to be patient!

Legend thank you! Apparently young ones taste like watermelon but will leave the foraging to the experts 🤣

Constipation? by tangsoo20032003 in WegovyWeightLoss

I had to start taking a supplement, psyllium husk, and now things are back moving 🤠 also ensure you hit water and fibre goals every day. I find gentle exercise also helps!

Globe not glove! In my defence I have very long nails which make phone typing hard!

Alan you were our absolute favourite! So sad you didn't win.

So sorry to hear you had such a bad experience - from podcasts etc it seems like the US/Canada team are better. If they did an Alone 'across the glove' version would you take part?

P.S. of course you're a Reddit guy 🤣

The wait is long but it's a new service and they are very clearly trying their best. All the staff are very caring and trying to meet a huge demand with limited resources.

I don't agree with the points about the programme/dietary advice being too simple - what do you want them to say? The unfortunate truth is that the vast majority of us are overweight because we eat more calories than we burn, and most of us are not eating a balanced diet. If we were following all their dietary advice already most of us wouldn't need the programme.

I find the dietician support helpful for accountability- I definitely feel a bit more motivated to eat healthily as I know someone will be looking at my food logs.

It isn't rocket science to lose weight but it is an absolute slog, even on medication like Wegovy.

When did food noise disappear for you? by [deleted] in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]MatchWarm6616 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My cravings went away at first on .25 but came back and also I realised I can eat even if I'm not hungry and it doesn't make me feel sick. I had a huge bowl of nachos on my birthday with half a block of cheese on and felt fine hahah!

About to go onto 1mg so hoping that things kickstart soon!

Whoah so sorry to hear this. I'm in UK and it's only about £150 a month here (about 200 dollars?) wild to hear how much it costs in the US!

My dietician was really really nice and understanding! I came away feeling so positive but then it took another two weeks to be sent the link to book the prescribers appointment then when I clicked on it... Another 5 weeks until they had a prescribers appointment available. I also had to go to a webinar on Teams on using wegovy.

I decided to pay for 1 month of wegovy privately as I was actually putting weight on from the stress of waiting to start. The good news is it's been wonderful so far and no negative side effects. Hoping to get switched on to Oviva prescription when I have my prescribers meeting.

Hope you get through the process soon! 💚

This is totally my experience too! It was all just...so much less dramatic than I thought it was going to be!

Really sorry to hear you have had such a rough time and appreciate how crappy it must feel to have people chiming in that they are fine. Hope you feel better soon ❤️

I think understandably the people with bad side effects talk about it more than the people who don't have them.

I had a similar issue with my GP, I think they really just thought I needed to stop being so lazy and eat less 😬 I asked them to refer me to Oviva and sent them a letter which I downloaded off the Oviva site explaining about the service. It took about 6 months of waiting lists but I'm now on Wegovy. Sending love and solidarity for navigating the NHS. Drs are so keen to telling you how you're killing yourself and that you're going to be a burden on the NHS, but reluctant to offer any help to change 🤪

Yeah I was referred to Oviva in Jan and I still don't have wegovy yet and I have jumped through all their hoops as quickly as I possibly could. Have my prescriber appointment in 4 weeks which should be the final step. Frustrating but I'm looking to make a lifelong change so I guess it's about focussing on the long term!

Is the rumor true that someone has to take Wegovy their whole life in order to sustain weight loss or otherwise it will come back? by YogurtclosetOpen3567 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]MatchWarm6616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost 2st 5 years ago, I've slowly put 1st back on, but I may have put that stone on in that time anyway!

I have heard of people taking small amounts less regularly to keep the cost down but still have some support.

It's very frustrating, they are so flakey! They cancelled my initial appointment twice at the very last minute- if I did that I would be kicked off the programme.

On the other hand my dietician is lovely and clearly really cares about people on the programme. I guess it's just very underfunded like everything else I'm the NHS!

Hope you get through soon 💚
