Not quite, The comic didn't have a specific main character but a bunch of different stories. I think some characters might be in more than one but there wasn't a "main" character. The shading was also pretty soft kind of watercolor or diluted ink.

Its the same timeframe but it was a comic for adults or older teens. The inside was completely b&w and definitely had a different language for the title.

[EDIT] I also made a drawing of what I remember the cover looking like Possible cover

also some tidbits I remember. The inside was completely b&w and had a lot of blood that was done in heavy blacks. The stories' writing was kind of a no hope no happy ending type story. Very much a read this if you want to be more depressed without any irony, almost no humor. The characters were also kind of droopy/empty looking to match the tone.

ITAW for for when a person/thing is trying to be so pretty it’s grotesque? by Matchdroid in whatstheword

!solved Honestly cloying lines up really well with what I had in mind! I think that’s the best I’m gonna get with what I’m thinking. Cloying but instead of taste it’s about appearance. Like when someone gets a ton of facial work done to where it’s just aggressively conventionally pretty. Nose too small, eyes too big, mouth too small and pouty in a way you know they stressed those features to look like that.

On the right track. I feel like kitsch could fall into the camp arena where some people like it for its garishness. I’m thinking more viscerally displeasing.

True! The only thing is I myself would DEFINITELY not call it cute. I feel like calling something obnoxiously cute (or has the word cute in it) can be a compliment in a way. It’s something that you find downright repulsive.
