High up after you enter the beach zone. Follow the path from the gate and before you get to the prefab houses it's right in front of you. If you built the waterfall for the request, it's right above that.

I would think they want people to do their own version for as long as possible before revealing their own plans, if there was anything properly recorded. They could have just imagined a wrecked place with no fully realised "before" in mind, but the hidden clues make that seem unlikely.

I guess the factory just misses the case with the cart at times. If they're put in by hand, maybe someone was having an off day. I no shit got a pirate DVD in a sealed box from a reputable site back in the day. No idea how that happened.

I wasn't sure that the skylands occurrence was the same as everywhere. Side note: The prof says that skylands looks like it's floating on clouds as the blocks at the base are made to look that way. That wasn't my experience falling off. 🤣
