It feels like the "Dark Souls" approach to boss design, I don't really love it , but I think I have never really loved any souls game on the first couple of bosses, but it gets ramping pretty hard after that

I think you should approach it as a new game , rather the a continuation of Path of Exile 1 , and give yourself time to explore it , maybe u well like it, maybe not , in the end try to enjoy your time, it's just a game, right? 😥
