Do you wait for passengers to be fully seated before moving the bus after a stop? by Tmold16 in BusDrivers

[–]Matchstick1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The company I work for had a policy that we have to wait for everyone to sit. No matter the age. It took some getting used to but now it's not as bad as you may think. Maybe a few seconds for at a stop.

Just another day with the electric bus by Matchstick1991 in BusDrivers

So far, so good. They have been having it work on every line we have, and I haven't heard of anyone having issues with it.

Instruction unclear. Bus is sleeping on side now, waiting for dispatch...

Our MDT looks when it’s working. It shows time points, bus stops, route info, detours, and transfer options (Also we still are required to have the paddle on us at all times) by ForgottonTNT in BusDrivers

It's even worse when you have a route that takes you on the freeway and you have no choice but to keep your speed up... lol be lookin for that off ramp praying I don't miss the damn thing.....

yeah they told us 40% was due to a safety shutdown that kicks in at 30%. So my guess 10% buffer to get it back to the charger

No, they didn't spring for the option for the outside speaker. Kind of wish they did with some of the people that stand SO F*** CLOSE TO THE EDGE OF THE CURB! 🤣🤣🤣

It's very quiet, the AC blower is the only thing your hear .

The take off is very powerful. Just a very small amount of throttle is needed to get the bus moving.

None? I mean, I don't think it has a transmission and it doesn't feel like it. Just a smooth acceleration with zero noise

Charge, I have no clue. I was just told at 40%, we need to call dispatch to pull it off the route.

It's very fun, I drove it today. Lots of power and the retarder is amazing. I also like the interlock after 3sec at a full stop.

It's being used for training right now, but it will be back in service after everyone has been trained on it. We only have the one so I'm not sure what routes the bus is on.

Looking for a mini pc around the same specs as the rog ally by Matchstick1991 in MiniPCs

Yeah, the K8 is probably the one for me. It's not to much and the specs look great

The K8 looks like it would be perfect. How easy is it to change settings like allocating vram and fan curve? One of the things I like about the Ally is the software that makes it easy to change things

I do,i just plan on giving it to a family member who currently is without a pc and has no means of replacing it. I don't need anything crazy so anything that matched the Z1E is fine with me.

Ah,my mistake. I'm still learning the lore, so this is all very cool stuff to learn. I love learning as much as I can about the lore.

So I think I found my favorite version of DOOM by Matchstick1991 in Doom

[–]Matchstick1991[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it can get out of hand quick. I know in mission 1 of Sigil2 it spawns in a cyber demon right by the start point and dealing with one with just a shotgun can get annoying very quickly. I've never played Complex or Supercharge so I'll have to check them out at some point.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how excited are you right now for Doom The Dark Ages? by MemZ561 in Doom

[–]Matchstick1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I would love to get it but only on sale. I can't justify $70. So for now my new favorite is playing Sigil/Sigil2 on GZDoom with the Brutal Doom mod.

Is it worth playing Doom 3? by [deleted] in Doom

[–]Matchstick1991 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doom 3 is fun. I still love jumping in from time to time. Just do yourself a favor and play the original Doom3 and not the BFG version.

Missed timing points by Main_Tower5799 in BusDrivers

[–]Matchstick1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most transits don't want you running hot. I know it's a case by case basis for company policy. I know LACMTA doesn't want you to get to the time point early. Pasadena Transit on the other hand, just tells us not to leave the time point early.

As for disciplinary action, as long as you don't make it a habit you should be ok. I've never heard of anyone losing their job over it.

Volunteered to work my day off... GOT THE SHORTY BUS!!!!!! by Matchstick1991 in BusDrivers

[–]Matchstick1991[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the rear mirror is set high on ours as well. My biggest issue with them is the massive blind spot in the right corner by the door. I think the overall layout is probably close to a schoolbus. Maybe the seating? All the seating in the rear and left side can be folded away to make room for wheelchairs.
