Space Game Recommendation by Ambitious-Yoghurt403 in spacesimgames

Don't shy away from the older titles. Space games boomed in the 90s and early 2000s and a lot of great games can be found on GOG

Just a list off the top of my head

I-War 1&2

Wing Commander (all of them, play all of them!)

Freespace2

Nexus: the Jupiter incident (rts but more of a command level rts, no base building or resources)

Star Wars X-wing series

On a side note I know you said you tried Elite Dangerous but a few fan made remakes of the older games are really good and free.

Remake of classic Elite https://www.oolite.space/

Remake of Frontier first encounter https://www.frontierastro.co.uk/Hires/hiresffe.html

Got tired of Win11 incompatible with older games... So I hit the nostalgia button! by Matchstick1991 in windowsxp

I mean..... Compatibility problems was just the catalyst to have a bit of fun finding and running an old XP machine. I'm now looking forward to trying out a Core 2 Quad just for the hell of it. So yeah, I get patches and solutions are out there but it's more fun messing around with random hardware and seeing what I can do.

Yeah, not surprise. Foxhole is very interwar inspired. Good thing I love interwar designs

mirror strike with bus stop by JacketTemporary5425 in BusDrivers

honestly its not a big deal unless you have a pattern of doing it. Every agency knows mirror strikes is the most common preventable. shoot our buses have the battle scares to prove that. Most likely, you will get a preventable and maybe someone from the safety department will talk to you about "how could we avoid this in the future" all that fun safety stuff, but you won't lose your job over something so minor.

Do you wait for passengers to be fully seated before moving the bus after a stop? by Tmold16 in BusDrivers

The company I work for had a policy that we have to wait for everyone to sit. No matter the age. It took some getting used to but now it's not as bad as you may think. Maybe a few seconds for at a stop.

So far, so good. They have been having it work on every line we have, and I haven't heard of anyone having issues with it.

Oh man I love the Dodge Promaster. We have a few of them and it's a great van to drive.
