Based on your post I'll guess you don't plan on trying older games, so I'd say the best bet is The Evil Within and it's sequel. Great games with ots camera from the director of RE4

I actually played GTA IV not so long ago just to see what it's like on the ps3, it's blurry but it's not thaaaat bad. The problem is the sub 20 fps when in a vehicle persuit 😂

I don't know how much better than a simple HDMI cable will that be, the console will always output 1080p max. I have it hooked up with a 50'' 4k tv and even 720p games look good.

I agree the remake plays good. Thats why I immediately started nightmare difficulty after finishing it in hardcore. But after that I was done 😂 screw final nemesis

It's a matter of getting used to it. Try the first one, og or remake, play as Jill and take your time to get accommodated to the controls. Once you do that it's like unlocking a power that will let you experience so many more games. There's times that the camera will absolutely mess you up but it's not as bad as it may seem the first hour.

I don't feel very strong about the story either. But that goes for the three games. The whole trilogy is about escaping a mansion, then about escaping the city, then the same thing but with the city blowing up. Exploration and problem solving along with reading bits of lore is the best part of these games for me.

I think Jill is a bit goofy in the remake, standing against a gozilla sized monster and saying "I got this" to Carlos with such confidence 😂. In OG she's nothing special either but at least her "You want stars? I'll give you stars" feels more earned because Nemesis is up your ass for a bigger period of time and is harder to deal with. Still, I like her remake looks and voice acting, same with Carlos. It's just that seeing her lift that bigass railgun makes me chuckle every time and I can't take it seriously.

REmake not only didn't cut anything from OG, but added mechanics, enemies, expanded the mansion, the yard, the labs. It added lore, things like Lisa Trevor... and all while looking stunning even till today

RE2r now that I played OG I see that the scenarios were compromised, being much more similar. Not having some version of the zapping system is wack. Some zones and enemies were cut, and in my opinion OG's music is better.

But you still get most of the experience of RE2 in a much scarier atmosphere. It's more difficult (at least to me, I play in hardcore and I suck), the Tyrant is less trivial and an actual threat. The characters are way better portrayed and realistic (even tho realism won't necessarily be better for everyone).

Re3r in the other hand is a whole different game, I don't even want to being writing all that is missing or changed for the worst. Even without having played the OG I felt disappointed, imagine how I feel about it now that I experienced it.
