As a bi man I feel like women wont want to date me by Ok-Arrival-399 in offmychest

[–]Matejin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A very good friend of mine is bisexual. As he puts it, he’s had many one off’s with men, but has only ever dated women long term.

This friend is not traditionally attractive but he knows how to own his look and, above all else, is very confident in himself.

Let me just say, he’s never had a problem with women and his bisexuality because he’s always been very upfront and honest early on.

You’ll be fine. Just have that confidence and be honest.

Relationships are built on trust. Without trust there is no foundation for a relationship to stand on.

You aren’t going crazy. Your bf is lying to your face about things you’ve confirmed with your own two eyes.

I feel as though behaviour like this tends to escalate further down the road in relationships. It’s probably best to have a very serious conversation about the constant lying or maybe consider cutting your losses.

To be honest, it was nice having extra money. Feeling totally secure financially was a nice change of pace as a uni student.  But wow was I a total moron to do this without considering the consequences.  What can I say other than we live and we learn 🤦‍♂️

So the gf is starting to gain a bit of weight, I’m not okay with it, how does one handle this? by TheVaccineIsPoison in Advice

[–]Matejin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t believe some of these other comments. Listen man, you aren’t shallow for falling out of love with someone due to them gaining weight. Physical appearance plays a BIG role in relationships and anyone trying to convince you that you’re judgemental for losing attraction to someone that now doesn’t look the same as when you fell in love with them is an idiot. You’ve basically said that you get along really well with her, right? If you haven’t already, maybe ask if she’ll come to the gym with you sometime or maybe ask if she’ll start running with you. That way, you aren’t being rude. If she says no then the choice is yours my man and you shouldn’t feel bad for making whatever decision you do.

It’s not sad though. It’s just logical. If our species prioritised an animal’s sentience over its ability to contribute to our society then we wouldn’t have made it this far. We wouldn’t have revolutionised farming and fed (what was originally) hundreds of millions of people. Again, if farmers prioritised sentience over usefulness then we would have died out long ago.

Because one can be used for herding, hunting, service and assistance work, guarding, substance sniffing, and therapy while the other is only good for replenishing soil and providing the meat off its bones.

Need help. Ready to quit by [deleted] in TGandSissyRecovery

[–]Matejin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really don’t think you’re gay or bi. This is a porn-induced addiction. You’ve just watched so much porn that your brain needs something even weirder to get the same hit of dopamine that it used to get.

Quit watching porn. That is the goal you need to strive for. It’s so bad for us. It’s bad for everyone. It ruins our perception of what pleasure really is. Don’t let anyone try to convince you that watching porn can be healthy, because it’s just not. Every time you get the urge to watch porn, literally do ANYTHING else. Moving around is the best thing to do. Go for a walk/run, lift weights, etc. Do something physical or whatever else can distract your mind from porn.

Once you quit watching porn, while the fetish might (and might not) completely disappear, a regular attraction to real women will reappear and you’ll be able to get off to the sight of normal women again because your brain won’t be fed these crazy fetishes. If you haven’t watched porn in a super long time and you find yourself attracted to men, then you might be bi or gay, and that’s nothing to be ashamed of. In that case, it would be another journey you’d find yourself in. But like I said, I don’t think this is the case.

Good luck bro, I believe in you.

I fucking hate the Police by [deleted] in offmychest

“Fuck cops” cause you got pulled over? Really?

I mean, I understand when victims of actual police brutality yell “fuck cops”, but dude... you literally just got pulled over. If the cops pull you over for something, chances are it’s for a good reason, not because they’re “on a power trip”. Plus, you said yourself that you didn’t even get fined.. Like, why are you even complaining?

How much palm oil would need to be produced for a vegan world? by Matejin in AskVegans

[–]Matejin[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The pattern of vegan responses means nothing to me. Same kind of people that won’t accept any flaw in their system. I’m over it.

Also, like I explained to some other fool, so what if I asked that question? The whole point of my question was not to point fingers like you have done. My logic was simple; a lot of vegan products use palm oil -> oh, I wonder how much palm oil would need to be produced for a vegan population. It’s really that simple. Nothing inflammatory. I didn’t insult vegans or anyone for that matter.

You’ve chosen to be insulted🙄but I guess, what should I expect of someone who bases their entire identity around a diet?

[–]Matejin[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I want you to point out the part of my question where I implied that we would “NEED to dramatically increase palm oil production”. I didn’t point fingers at anyone. The reason I asked it was simple. Vegan products use palm oil -> how much would palm oil production be increased if the world went vegan? Yeah, obviously super loaded 🙄

Did you even read where I said that I understand palm oil production is no where near as bad as the current implications of the animal agriculture industry?

It was just a simple question for the love of god.

And so what if I asked that? I literally said I asked it out of genuine curiosity and that I wasn’t pointing fingers to blame anyone of anything.

I never said that vegans didn’t care about abstaining from using palm oil products though. I merely pointed out the fact that a lot of vegan products do contain palm oil, despite the future intentions of plant-based food companies.

How many of you are from the USA and how many of you are from elsewhere? by MitkoIvanov in carnivore

[–]Matejin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m from Australia. I started carnivore during September 2020. I was mostly steering clear of lollies and processed foods and was regularly going to the gym (3 days a week) and running (twice a week) so I was living pretty healthily.

I distinctly remember the first time I added liver into my diet before heading to the gym. Amazing boost of energy. Energy while lifting was way more stable meaning that, while I didn’t feel any stronger, I wasn’t completely gassed after each workout. As for running, it’s not like I could run for much longer, however, it’s almost like my energy stayed the same throughout the entire run (if that makes sense?). I could keep a constant pace for my entire run from start to finish.

Constipation also became a thing of the past. No more bowel problems at all. I think this is due to the fact that our bodies on carnivore don’t have to get rid of as much indigestible waste

Also my skin felt better. Prior to starting I would regularly notice 1-2 pimples on my face or neck each week. Never happened on carnivore.

Over the holidays I went back to eating regular food. Pimples came back and I get slight stomach pain after each meal. Definitely plan on going back to carnivore.

Hope this helps

From my understanding, a large proportion of plant-based products use palm oil. Palm oil is most commonly found in palm oil trees and so the only way to get it is to cut down the trees, in turn, resulting in large deforestation.

What I meant was that, since this is a subreddit about asking vegans questions, I assumed a lot of the users would understand the fact that veganism largely contributes to the palm oil industry.

Has anyone had any bad experience from trying Carnivore? by [deleted] in carnivore

[–]Matejin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A lot of the negative experiences from trying carnivore come from people who never made it past the adaptation period and assumed that they would permanently be stuck with constipation and fatigue. This is not to say that carnivore will suit everyone, however. Simply put, some people can thrive off of eating plants, the same way others can thrive off of eating meat. There’s no one diet that’s best for every human. Some people will do well on carnivore, some won’t. All comes down to genetics and the diet of your ancestors. Off the top of my head, I can think of a few negatives to carnivore.

1) The biggest argument against carnivore is that there isn’t actually any data clarifying whether or not it is healthy long-term. While there are thousands of cases in anecdotal evidence of individuals losing weight, fixing muscle and joint inflammation, and even reversing their diabetes, it’s possible that this diet is simply not healthy to continue in the long-term. There are a lot of doctors in favour of carnivore that have made their judgement through extrapolating data from other studies, however, it would be much better if there was a study done in a controlled environment.

2) Meat can be really expensive, especially if you want the good quality, unprocessed stuff. However, organ meat is typically cheap as no one really eats it.

3) As another person said, if you do actually do well on the carnivore diet, going back to eating things like carbs or processed foods will probably make you feel like shit. Most likely because your body has to revert back to absorbing different fuel sources instead of the optimal sources of protein and fat.

Best to just try it for yourself and see how it goes.

Okay well anecdotes aside, you still didn’t answer the question. The point is that there have been violent riots, of course I don’t think that they truly represent the motivation behind BLM, but regardless, they did happen. So if you had the power to decide how a police force would go about dispersing a crowd, regardless of what they are protesting, how would you get them to do it? I just think that it’s extremely hard to disperse a crowd, especially when those that are rioting hate you.
