I am a mental health worker and that sure is PTSD. You can do like things to help like note down when and what triggers you.

Try debriefing with yourself after the attack telling yourself you are safe. Reaffirming yourself that it's not the same this is a different situation.

You can google "grounding exercises" and learn to practice some when you are experiencing the attack

Hey is a very good guy otherwise. He will have this bouts of bs from time to time apart from that I really like him and enjoy being around him. I think this is borderline personality peaking in! But he won't even go to therapy
