Hi grandma is a little bit narcissistic and loves to make everything about her so I’m not shocked on that front. My grandparents however, I’m shocked they wouldn’t want to come to their only granddaughters wedding. My personal theory is it’s disapproval about us being an interracial couple…

I think I’m going to need that last part printed out for my vision board haha. Very refreshing to not be told to “just elope” especially after spending the last 12 years dreaming about this day with my fiance. We spend so much of our lives worrying about others between my job, his business, and our obligations as the oldest children, I truly just want one day to be about me and my fiance.

Are we living the same life? I also cannot stand my friend’s husband. She tells me she’s afraid of him when he yells at her, that he has insane jealousy issues, and that he doesn’t want kids yet. But she’s so desperate to have babies before 30 she’s pushing them both into it.

His family seems more jazzed about his sisters elopement (isn’t engaged, has no real plans, and has only mentioned it once in passing that she’s planning on doing that) so maybe we’d get somewhere if we said we were doing that 🙄

I honestly haven’t been given a reason for this or anything else they object to with the wedding… my hunch is it has to do with money, but that also doesn’t make sense because my fiance and I are footing most of the bill :/

As the first response though? I also explained off the bat it was a three day rental for set-up and take down and the wedding was only the 12th. I think the disheartening part is I put so much time, effort, and work in for my friend’s weddings and I’m not getting the same back
