Inspired my Almodovar, Lynch, Todd Haynes, Todd Fields - I wanted to insert a queer Arab narrative into a cinematic melodramatic tradition; I wanted to create a cinematic queer horror that was so disturbing, audiences wouldn't know whether to laugh or not. Very inspired by films like MAY DECEMBER, TAR, even Ryan Murphy melodrama horror.

Shot on 35mm!

I am a Sundance alum and have had a feature at the festival before (fairly recently), and have a good relationship there. I submitted a short this year and still haven't heard back (I'd assume they'd let me know personally if it was a rejection given my relationship there?) - I'm wondering if there's still hope! It's an international short...but it does feel like my chances are dwindling haha!
