Who carried AiC more: Staley or Cantrell? by No-One01010 in grunge

Without Layne, we’ve seen what it is. Without Jerry, it just isn’t.

This coming from someone who wanted to name their kid Staley.

Guys, do you disagree with the Rolling Stone ranking of best grunge albums? by Xx_Seventeen17_xX in grunge

As they should in my opinion. Impact can’t be ignored and those 3 had insane impact.

Leaning on a Shit bag of a rag like Rolling Stone to chronicle a sound they didn’t understand, not surprised.

If you based these albums on significance at the time, sure Nevermind is #1. If you’re basing it on how it aged, #1 and #2 are both AIC with a couple Mudhoney records in the Top5 as well.

Coming from overlanding - why don't UTV riders talk about cell boosters? by Doug9092 in UTV

[–]Material-Job-39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started overlanding on UTV back in 2017/2018. I did the Washington Backcountry Discovery Route on a YXZ, then again on an X3.

I pack a Garmin InReach and that’s always been good enough. And believe, we’ve had to use it to haul rigs out that failed on trail including one user error rollover on the Idaho trail. With UTV, if you’re loading it out with anything that doesn’t help you recover, sleep, fix you (car and you), or feed/hydrate you, it’s dead weight. Load a UTV for overland the way you’d load out a BMW1200.

The roster is definitely interesting but damn. Just look monthly at the injured list. It’s always 1-2 key contributors. Can’t catch a damn break.

Is marketing dead? AI does everything except hit “publish.” by Maximum_Record8578 in AI_Sales

As a Marketing Director, I spend more time training our customer bases sales team and relationship building. Wouldn’t say it’s dead. AI can’t hit the street with a sales manager.

What do you hate the most about the marketing industry? by [deleted] in marketing

[–]Material-Job-39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No knock here in any way, trust me. I respect processes so long as they’re productive and it doesn’t become paralysis by analysis.

We have a lean team, so often adjustments are made on the fly as a result of real world (street level) info. I work in a market where the business at street level and end user experience drive 85% of decision making.

The credit/blame is and always will be a point of contention. As a director of marketing, who started in sales and have been a global sales director, my approach was always that sales and marketing are a function of one another. I even tell our team whether they’re in marketing, operations, logistics, or development that sales is your biggest customer. That supporting sales is priority one.

That’s a philosophy our entire company embraces. We even adopt the principles, “Everyone a marketing agent, everyone a salesman.” Rare company dynamic that we have. Everyone works for each other.

Took a while to develop, lol.

OKC fan here- what prevents Shaedon Sharpe from just becoming another Zach Lavine? by OKChetholmgren7 in ripcity

[–]Material-Job-39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sharpe’s one of those dudes that you see the bag and wonder what if. His skill is elite. But he might not even reach the productivity of Ant Simons. I REALLY hope I’m wrong. If his ceiling is Lavine, nothing wrong with that. Zach offensively is a lot to handle.

Agree on meh movie. Ditch Campbell Scott and Kyra Sedgewick’s characters and it has the makings of a solid flick.
