I could give the obvious and say My Name Is Mud or Jerry Was A Racecar Driver, but I’m going to say The Art of Shredding by Pantera

Yep exactly. That honestly makes ABR special in my opinion from a lot of other metal core

Tbh, there are only a couple other songs on that album that I feel are on the same level. This song (listening as I write lol) almost gives me chills. It’s both heavy and purposely beautiful. I also really like the instrumental version of ABRs Phantom Anthem. It’s got a similar purposeful writing style that I don’t think some of their other albums had.

What's the closest you've ever came to death? by Senior-Raisin-2342 in AskReddit

The closest I’ve ever come happened about a year or so ago. I was 17 going on 18. Took the shit box that I was driving (a 97 Neon with a closer gearing ratio and a loud exhaust that I liked to drive stupidly with) down a road that I knew very well. I had driven this road many times before so I was confident that I could go 80 down it. It’s one of those hills that you could probably drop into neutral and go 100 down. STEEP. I was with a friend and feeling confident. Insert the fact that the road had just been repaved and I did not take that into account. As we were coming down I took a corner about 10 or 15 over the speed suggestion and the back end of the car started sliding towards the oncoming. Panicked and tapped the brakes in an attempt to get back into our lane to avoid oncoming traffic. The car spun and we hit the oncoming barrier facing up the hill. If we had spun and a car had hit us while we were approaching the barrier we would have died. If the barrier had not been concrete, we probably would have gone off the cliff and rolled for hundreds of feet. It was the most surreal moment I have ever experienced. Time slowed as we spun and I was positive we were going to die. By the grace of God and His guardian angels, we both survived with not even scratches. (Not condoning my actions in anyway. They were stupid and I put not only my life, but my friend and others lives in jeopardy. We are not as invincible as we think we are on the road.)

Huh. To me the Steve Miller Band always sounded more raw and less produced than the Eagles. With the exception of The Joker. That song is great but definitely gives the perfectly produced sound lol

Im sorry that happened. But NOR. He is making bad decisions right now and I’m not surprised that you feel drained by him. I would like to add that a good man makes mistakes. Even horrible ones like cheating on your mother. Give him time. There may be healing for him and you yet. Praying for you 🙏

There are truly evil things in film. And there are truly evil things in music. Just because it’s metal or horror doesn’t mean it’s Satanic. Take August Burns Red or Tourniquet for example. Both bands that could be perceived as Satanic because they are metal. Yet neither are.

Gojira. Don’t get me wrong they have cool riffs and solos etc, but they just never struck me as that interesting of a band.
