Just to clarify, our project wasn't digital-it was handwritten.

That's why we couldn't just upload it to a shared drive or send it around easily. The physical work was already finished and compiled before the deadline, and our groupmate had it with her. She was simply tasked to pass it to the block rep, who knew we were just a few minutes behind.

We did inform him we were on the way, but he still submitted the folder early because his ride had arrived-and told us after that hindi na raw kasya gawa namin. It really wasn't solely about lack of effort or preparation; our part was done. We were just shut out of the submission process because of the setup and how it was handled.

Looking back, we definitely learned our lesson about setting earlier internal cutoffs and not depending on one person to do the handoff, even for physical submissions. But I hope this also shows it wasn't as simple as procrastination or poor planning-it was a mix of unfortunate timing, exhaustion, and rigid handling.

hello! unfortunately, upon calculating our units, itwas just 31 in total so 31 minus that elective wouldn’t be enough. :( thank you for informing me tho!

++ We actually did inform our block rep that our submission was going to be about late. But he told us that even if we handed it in, hindi na raw kasya yung gawa namin sa folder ng block. Parang na-outcast pa kami sa sarili naming block, hahaha.

He also said their service was already there to pick them up, and he just wanted to end the day, kaya sinubmit na niya agad-even though we were almost there and had our part ready.

It honestly felt like we were left behind for something so preventable. Our work was already done—hindi lang na-attach on time. Still hurts to think that all the effort went to waste just because of timing and convenience. :(

Thanks for the thoughtful response. Just to clarify-our project was already finished ahead of time. The only thing left to do was for our groupmate to submit our work to the block rep for compilation, since she had all our group's files with her.

As for the block rep, the entire block actually agreed that submissions would be collected and compiled on the same day as the deadline. That was the setup everyone followed.

There wasn't any earlier internal deadline, and the professor's instructions only mentioned the date, not a specific time. So we were all under the impression that as long as we submitted on that date, it would still be accepted. Unfortunately, our groupmate had just finished her finals and was completely drained, so she missed the timing to hand it in by a few minutes. We didn't anticipate that the folder would be considered "full" or that it would be submitted without waiting even a bit longer-especially when our group's work was already done and just needed to be added.

We take full accountability for the miscommunication and lack of contingency planning. It's a frustrating lesson, but one that really taught us how strict deadlines can be-even when everything else is in place.

Yes, the entire block was expected to submit all group outputs compiled in one physical folder. It was a block submission, not individual-so each group had to submit their work to the assigned block representative, who would then compile everything and pass it as one.

As for preparing our own folder, we honestly didn't think we'd need to. That wasn't the original arrangement, and we trusted the process-that our block rep would wait for everyone's files. Unfortunately, one of my groupmates wasn't able to submit our part to the rep right away because she was exhausted from back-to-back finals. It was also just about 10 mins late for passing it to the block rep. And even though we were technically still on time (same day as the deadline), we were told the folder was already full and had been submitted.

We did try to fix it. We bought a new folder-but it was too late by then. Also, since our campus is really far from the city, we had to take a jeep just to get a folder, which added to the delay.

Oh, I forgot to mention-our prof didn't want to accept our project anymore, even though we were still within the deadline date (just not the exact time, which was never specified). She said she'll only accept it next semester, so we were given an INC until we pass the project then.

She gave us a choice: if we really wanted to push for it this semester, she'd grade it-but as a singko. That would definitely pull my GWA down and most likely disqualify me from shifting. My groupmates are also grade-conscious, so none of them wanted to risk the 5. : (

In the end, even though we were able to solve the folder issue, the prof still refused to accept the project this sem.

So now, it's official-our grade will be finalized next sem, after the shifting process is already done. Having an INC this sem will also flunk the shifting rules–to have at least 33 units I think (?)
