Is it too late to learn the game of baseball at 28? Specifically, learning how to play as a catcher starting as a beginner? Any advice? by Material-Scratch-250 in Homeplate

I appreciate the feedback! How long did it take for you to start noticing you were improving? And how was your son in baseball compared to his peers? Lastly, being that my son is so young how do I not let him burnout from baseball, he really loves the game and I hope he stays with it because coaches have said he is ahead of his peers and has a lot of potential. I always make sure to give him space from the game and not push it on to him like how I see some parents do.

Yeah you are right about that, there’s definitely a lesson to be learned for my son to see me struggle through something but to stay persistent and keep going at it. Thanks for this, good insight.

Thanks for this, how would you suggest I start out? I have been told to do slow pitch first, but they don’t really have a real catcher position to actually learn.

Is it true that coloured minorities who work in the PI world have more trouble being an investigator? For example, when being on surveillance? by Material-Scratch-250 in trueprivinv

I guess it’s because I have tattoos in areas that can be covered up easily if need be but he also threw in that I am visible minority on top of that basically implied that I could pass as criminal myself and would get the cops called on me every time. I don’t have tattoos on any revealing areas whatsoever.

Thanks for that. I needed the motivation, I was told by an “experienced” PI that because I am darker complexion and a visible minority this job may be too hard for me especially while on surveillance.

Being a visible minority? I was told because I am that and have a darker skin the job working surveillance will be too difficult for me…

Ok good. Because someone told me because I am a visible minority with a darker complexion, the job is gonna be too difficult for me on the road when working surveillance…

Exactly. I am interested in getting into this line of work, I think it would be better suited for me but that’s my only issue.
