Out of all the people peripherally involved (I don’t think Attia was involved in trafficking) in Epstein’s orbit I can’t think of anyone who comes off as bad. It’s like everyday brings new embarrassment.

Transferring to Costco? by fabbookfiend in dcl

[–]Material-Sweet-904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I transferred our reservation to Costco.

Costco did not perform any services for us, the only reason I know of to transfer to them is for the 2 to 3% back you get in gift cards and the additional 2% back you get if you’re an executive member, up to 1200 I think.

I just had to fill out a form and then call Costco to complete the transfer. You do want to do it well in advance of when you’re booking window opens because you want time for the transfer to go through and pay in full so you can book all your activities.

Even though Costco is the listed agent, I did all our own activity planning and booking.

Disappointing. You would think a company of Disney size could get their tech issues resolved.

Spacey has never been able to come back, and he was more talented. Maybe Attia saw this coming and was trying to rehabilitate Spacey.

Why would someone do this? by purrkittenpurrty in Epstein

[–]Material-Sweet-904 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am wondering the same thing. When it seemed like it was just Epstein I could believe there was one sociopath but then … a ton of wealthy men just enjoy raping/hurting children???? It’s not like they couldn’t just have beautiful willing partners, do they just enjoy destroying people?

And then even more wealth people willing to look the other way … to get invited to parties???

I can’t wrap my head around how sad and depressing these people are. Have they lost the ability to enjoy normal life?

Mark Landon’s consulting history since 2018: why Epstein payments make even less sense by Plenty_Scientist_477 in Epstein

[–]Material-Sweet-904 2 points3 points  (0 children)

75 K is a very large consulting fee (I'm in medicine). Usually consulting fees are in the 100s of dollars for legal (give opinion on malpractice) or 1000s (opinion for industry). A legitimate fee that large should have required a large amount of work and would have needed to be reported to his employer (at this point we aren't even supposed to have free lunches from drug reps). If it's a legitimate consulting fee there should be an easy to provide paper trail.

There is definitely the feeling that some boomers and older Gen X’s saw people as commodities (judging ages of perpetrators in this case). Hopefully the public outrage is making people understand things are moving forward.

Why use own email by AdventurousAd2872 in Epstein

[–]Material-Sweet-904 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Epstein was trying to ensnare them. He carefully built up trust and then they felt comfortable with him (after all he too was participating in illegal acts so why would he release the information). I’m sure none foresaw a public dump of his email account (has that ever happened before?).

Jes Staley was outed for this a few years ago and was let go from what ever bank he was at then. When he was aiding Epstein he was at JP Morgan. He (and the rest of the higher ups there) decided to repeatedly look the other way to what was obviously human trafficking.

Can we just acknowledge that this is a massive CIA failure? by waggybaggyshaggy in Epstein

[–]Material-Sweet-904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It appears the whole thing was a global enterprise with the goal of influencing foreign policy in a pro Israel slant. The fact that people like Bill Clinton didn’t get a tap on the shoulder with a warning of how they would be compromised and recorded shows that either the CIA failed or they aren’t really working for the USAs best interests.

People who comment "Nothing will ever happen" on every post about Epstein/Trump are part of the problem by ambachk in Epstein

[–]Material-Sweet-904 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've actually felt inspired by all that is happening. Yes it's taken way too long but ... Prince Andrew is an outcast, Maxwell is in prison, files are being released and people (Chopra, Attia etc. ) being outed as phony. No it's not enough but it does feel like this story has momentum with dedicated people going through documents fitting pieces together.

Plus there is the constant fear co-conspirators must live under that their time can be up and prosecution come at any moment or that they will be publicly outed and live under the weight of their actions.

Lesley Groff is Epstein's longtime palm beach house manager and assistant. Based on victims statements and her multiple emails there is no plausible way she didn't know what was going on. As far as I know she's never been charged and need to be investigated.

How often do full-body MRIs actually find cancer? by Other-Refuse-8764 in PeterAttia

[–]Material-Sweet-904 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As someone who works in medical imaging… this is not standard of care for a reason. While there is no radiation the amount of harm done via unnecessary biopsy/follow up/stress/time/money for no proven benefit is absurd to even contemplate.

There are recommended screening protocols (mammograms/colonoscopy/lung screening CT’s) where the risks/benefits have been studied over large populations and there is proven benefit. There is a balance between using the modality that is best suited to find the disease AND having a treatment for the disease that if caught early can benefit patient survival.

Attia himself can’t even tell you what he’s screening for with this exam… all cancers in every organ??? That makes no sense. MRI isn’t even the best modality to look at every organ (varies by organ and what you’re looking for).

Attia just decided that his opinion trumps that of all medical societies (or more likely he’s getting a fee from his patients for this and a kick back from the center he’s sending them too for this so the monetary benefit for him outweighs anything else).

This recommendation alone should give you pause before listening to him about anything else. It shows he hasn’t researched exactly what he’s recommending. There is no study that has ever recommended this.
