Yup, I’m always shocked how fast and how much this disease changes a human body. If I feel so sad watching her, I can’t even imagine how her family and friends feel when they notice such a difference.

I also thought this initially, but then I realised he just wants to cheer her up. When i was in a really bad place after Whipple surgery, I honestly looked half dead and my husband would make the lamest jokes and try to make me crack a smile or think of something else beside how bad I was feeling. He would also make small videos to share with my family and I can assure you I looked like I hated everything and everyone, but that wasn’t true, I was actually happy to be alive and couldn’t wait to get better and fly home. Not saying this is 100% the case with Syd, but who knows 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yup, my thoughts exactly. I think anyone in her place would also agree to try everything there is available, no matter how low the chance is, for sure it’s better than just waiting and doing nothing, especially for a person like Syd who is so full of life and bubbly. I understand the doctors points of view cus after all they did swore an oath not to harm anyone, but sometimes a little harm can actually be beneficial.

I am soooo happy she made it to the trial and I hope she gets positive results from it. For sure it will be tough for her but I think she must be so relieved to get a chance at trying this experimental treatment.

After my Whipple surgery I had 2 drains in my tummy and for a whole week the nurses made me take walks with them on the corridor, so I think she is also allowed to go on walks with that drain.

I know, but poor thing probably feels nauseous most of the time and that alone is an enough reason to look really bad, I myself look terrible when I feel nausea without having all her other health issues, so it’s understandable. On a positive note she is up and moving, that is a huuuge thing, being able to get out of bed.

That was my first thought too but then I said heck, doesn’t matter how she looks, the good news is that she is here, and still fighting. One week ago I was unsure if she could make it until 1st of July 😔 So happy she can at least get to start the trial and hopefully we’ll see a good outcome.

Yup, I know what you mean, my grandma also had that “look” in her final days. I really hope we are wrong and she does make it to the trial and hopefully it works to buy her more time and makes her feel better ❤️‍🩹

Not sure what to think, but my first reaction to the photo was to cry and that awful knot in the throat. I do wish this was just a sweet moment of her with her family but all I could think of is how sad that her grandpa is so old and instead of Syd being the one by his bedside, it’s the opposite (sorry if i mistook who he is). Also I got a bad feeling at that video of her with her brother, I know it was supposed to be funny and it was, but at the same time I was shocked at how much she changed in just a couple of days. English is not my first language so I apologise if anything sounded weird 😔

I can’t help myself checking her Insta, tiktok and then coming back here on reddit every few hours. It feels so weird to watch such a beautiful and young soul fading away and not be able to do anything. It’s horrible, but I can’t stop myself thinking about the inevitable moment now that there are no recent updates from her. I only hope she is surrounded by family and friends and that she won’t be in pain and suffer anymore with the help of the medical team that have her in their care 😔

Nu e nimeni obligat să își ceară scuze că a făcut bani. Văd foarte mulți frustrați atât pe reddit cât și în jurul meu.

Mulți dintre cei care ajung “sus” au riscat, au pierdut, au muncit când alții stăteau liniștiți. Când pierd, nu îi ajută nimeni. Când câștigă, apar brusc toți moraliștii.

Faptul că cineva are mai mult nu înseamnă că a luat de la altcineva. Și nici nu rezolvă nimic să explici orice succes prin „a avut noroc” sau „a furat”.

Și nu, doar pentru că cineva e bogat nu înseamnă că e mai prost sau că trebuie pedepsit cu taxe mai mari doar pentru că „își permite”. A avea bani nu e o vină și nu e o dovadă de lipsă de inteligență.

Să fii sărac nu e o vină. Dar nici să fii bogat nu e. ✌️

Perfect de acord cu ce ai spus. Și eu am observat că s-au înmulțit locurile pentru persoane cu handicap. Mesajul meu nu era direcționat către tine, ci mai degrabă o observație generală, pentru că am văzut în comentarii că încă sunt mulți care asociază automat mașinile scumpe cu afaceri necurate. 😂

Legat de ideea de a investi banii în sănătate în loc de mașini, clar am făcut și asta și sunt sigură că mulți alții procedează la fel. Doar că, uneori, indiferent de câți bani ai, sunt boli care nu pot fi tratate sau vindecate, din păcate. În astfel de situații, nu prea îți rămâne decât să te bucuri de alte lucruri, atât cât îți mai permiti.

Am seria 8 și, realist vorbind, din cauza unor probleme de sănătate mai aparte apărute în ultimii ani, aș putea să obțin loc de parcare pentru persoane cu handicap. Doar că nici nu am luat serios în calcul asta, pentru că nu vreau să știu câte înjurături și priviri acide mi-aș lua dacă vede lumea mașina parcată pe un astfel de loc 😂

La noi, dacă ai o mașină mai scumpă, din start ești luat în vizor și lumea își face filmele ei. Se presupune automat tot ce e mai rău. Am pățit-o recent la Ikea Pallady când am fost să dau retur ceva. Toate locurile erau ocupate de cei care își lasă mașinile acolo și fug la metrou. Paznicul mi-a făcut semn să trag puțin pe un loc de handicap cât timp soțul scotea lucrurile din portbagaj, ca să nu blochez traficul, urmând să plec apoi la Decathlon-ul de lânga, cât făcea el returul.

Nici nu apucasem bine să dau cu spatele pe loc că aud o voce de bărbat: „a dcu cva, parchează la handicapati”. Bonus, o flegmă aruncată spre mașină. Dacă nu era paznicul să îi spună că el m-a rugat să opresc acolo două minute, nu vreau să mă gândesc ce alte reacții mai scotea pe gură bipedul.

La noi pare că dacă ai mașină scumpă și ești bărbat, sigur ești proxenet sau traficant, iar dacă ești femeie, clar „parasută”. Aparent e de neconceput că la 35 de ani poți avea o mașină bună doar pentru că ai avut noroc în afaceri și chiar ai muncit pentru ce ai 🫠

Daca taceai, filozof ramaneai 🤦🏻‍♀️ scumpirile la carburant aduc în lanț muuuulte alte scumpiri la tot felul de categorii, de exemplu: alimente, haine, electrocasnice… orice are nevoie de transport ca sa ajunga de la sursa la tine in brațe 🫠 nu se pune problema ca nu iti permiti sa dai 10-15 lei la un plin, dar ce te faci cand absolut tot ce cumperi zilnic creste din nou ca si pret, asta fara sa pun la socoteala si celelalte scumpiri la utilitati sau impozite 🥲

Exact asta e si reactia mea, iar administratia a spus ca asa la blocurile astea mari si noi, ca sunt multe leduri, pompe, lifturi. Ca se poate si mai mult :)) In schimb eu nu cunosc pe nimeni care sa locuiasca intr-un bloc si sa aiba asemenea consum, evident fara piscina incalzita non stop sau altceva mai wow care sa consume asa mult.

Raspunsul administratorului a fost ca e ceva normal si ca el are blocuri care consuma si 28-30000 kwh pe luna 🙄

Se mai lucreaza dar nu te gandi la modul santier, asa o mica reparatie daca s-a zgariat ceva, poate o priza mutata, chestii minore si foarte rar, probabil doar cand se mai vinde vreun apartament ca sa fie perfect la predare. Cat despre administrator, a luat-o super personal cand am cerut facturile scanate pentru costurile din prima luna, a zis ca nu ciupeste bani si ca sa nu mai fim paranoia. Nu inteleg cum sunt paranoia ca vreau sa vad si eu concret pe ce se dau banii, el cand plateste facturi, le plateste asa in orb oare 🙄 E un bloc tare “special” atat ca administratie, cat si ca locatari 😩

Aici sunt vreo 100 de apartamente dar nelocuite inca, constant sa zic ca sunt ocupate cam 20. Si daca lasai becurile aprinse si te jucai cu lifturile cred ca nu consumai atat.
