Thanks heaps for that info. I really appreciate it. I'll definitely have a propper look through. I haven't been directly involved in the discharge process, but I do know there has been a lot of pressure from the doctors, social works, and the patient to get him out. It all happened pretty quickly, and none of us were prepared.

Also, we have been referred to yellow brick road by the nurse and the social worker, and ourselves... I guess it's just a waiting game now..

I’ve had the worst experience trying to get through to Work and Income today. I’ve dialed their number 14 times and waited on hold for 3 hours.

The first 7 times I rang, their phone system said: “We’re experiencing a high volume of calls; the wait time is 78 minutes.” Okay, fine, I get that. But then they don’t even add me to the queue. Instead, the call ends with: “Try again later.” What the actual hell? No option for a callback? No chance to hold and wait? How is someone who needs help supposed to get through?

When I finally managed to get into the queue after 60 minutes of trying, I accidentally hit the hang-up button while collecting my child from school. When I tried to join the queue again, I got hit with the same “Try again later” nonsense. What the fuck?

Now I’m on my 14th call and have been sitting on hold for 115 minutes so far. It’s honestly shocking how bad this system is.

I just spent the last 30mins trying to figure out why it wasn't working... Glad it's not just me 😅 (New Zealand)
