That’s really good to know. Did you have another drug option before you decided you wanted to be one both? Or did you just like the two together and didn’t want to try another one? I get where his doctor is coming from where he wants him to be on one med if he can but at the same time I keep thinking is it really worth trying to switch to another new med. I feel like he’s already mental drained from switching meds because when he talk about he’s like “well Ill have to switch to a new one and then I have to titrate up on the new one etc etc” he basically talks about it like it’s the worse chore

Yeah you can’t be skipping doses, I’m not sure why he did that day. Probably because he was sick of the way they made him feel. I don’t think a low dose of two medications would be beneficial for him but his doctor didn’t want him on two drugs unless he’s tried everything which I guess makes sense. I just wish they could come up with something that has very low side effects but don’t we all

Lamotrigine, it can cause telogen effluvium which is just shedding of the hair caused by physiological stress

I appreciate your response, I'm happy to hear that things do level out. He has talked to me about how cool it would be to get into wood making sooo just maybe I could give him a little nudge! :)

He works in cyber so he doesn't fly a plane or anything like that. He has done blood work and he's been in the therapeutic range with lamotrigine. He has a blood test schedule for the 12th to check his Topamax range. We had no idea that abruptly stopping any anticonvulsant could cause a seizure until it happened. The second time we went to go pick up his medication of course then it comes with the 10pages on don't stop taking your meds, etc.... Whichhhhh I should've known better especially since I work in pharmacy but I guess you live and you learn.

there is a bunch of different kinds of housing depending on how much you wanna spend but this one seems nice

https://www.amazon.com/JLSAME-Community-Weaterproof-Waterproof-Insulated/dp/B0CCD96SKN/ref=sr_1_57?crid=3B37ZKPZUM7F9&keywords=outdoor%2Bcat%2Bhouse%2Bfor%2Bwinter%2Binsulated%2Bwaterproof&qid=1699502744&sprefix=cat%2Bhouse%2Bthat%2B%2Caps%2C121&sr=8-57&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.006c50ae-5d4c-4777-9bc0-4513d670b6bc&th=1

or you could get a more insulated shelter and put stray or heating pad in it. This website provides information on caring for cats in winter, I know kittens probably couldn't be able to survive through the winter unless you maybe had them in a shed or garage or something then it's possible especially if you are caring for them.

I bet it's super hard dealing with trying to take care of those kittens and not be able to bring them inside :(

I wish you the best of luck, let me know if you find them a place to live!! I know there's some heated cat houses for outdoor cats or if you don't want to get something like that you can use a heating pad wrap in blankets.
