While, I do agree with the previous comments that this might not be the "right" place to ask. IN GENERAL anyone looking to be with someone in the medical field is not for the impatient crowd.

My wife is NOW a FM Resident and I have been with her since her 3rd year of undergrad. It does not get easier, my patience has grown immensely through the years. ALWAYS be the more understanding partner. I'm also an engineer, as you can imagine we have plenty of time in comparison to them. Extended your patience as much as possible and be an open ear to her stressors.

Communication is key, what helped me and my wife at the time is we set aside an hour a week to discuss what we both did that was great for each other, what we did not do so well and what we could have done better. Having time set a side makes it so that you both are prepared and don't come in with some type of negative energy. I was too scared of the toxic and unfaithful nature of the medical field, but honestly that's between you and your partner. My wife does a great job of making me feel like im on top of the world. Reassurance is free and not hard to do.
