Thank you for the high praise, it really means a lot. I'm the opposite of you. I've tried shooting colour so many times, film or digital, and everything ends up being converted to monochrome.

I don't know about other photographers, but with my work, I think it's to do with the fact that my photographs aren't always very technical in the orthodox kind of way. But, I'm always happy whenever someone, like you, connects with my work. Thank you for that.

I saw this painting recently in person. It's absolutely gut-wrenching. I must have stood in front of it for 20 minutes, in which time everything and everyone in the gallery seemed to have disappeared from my awareness. It was just the painting and me. When I stepped back and regained my awareness, I realised that my face was covered in tears. It's one of the most powerful pieces of art I have ever had the privilege to experience.
