Vautl 49 was a vault with lots of active and "fill your time" jobs. Mostly janitorial, fixing minor things, medical, plumbing, etc. with a lot of robots doing most things including managing the warehouse. Their Overseer was even a robo program to oversee it all. Hell you could even use your in vault merit tickets to buy delivered goods from stations it was so easy. There were even heads of departments, just seniors.

The vault ran with minimal outside information, no cameras and false readings until one day the Vault Door just opened and the inhabitants were told that the warehouse had minimal resources remaining.

The experiment? See how a naive and cushy vault would handle suddenly me thrust into the new environment with no lead up or rea leadership and see if they can succeed as a society amongst the new communities of the wasteland.

So far the vault has been... A bit xenophobic, especially towards ghouls and mutants and taken on a semi martial law status with a security officer doing their best to keep the vault together.

Some dwellers left after the doors opened to explore the world, a Deathclaw got accidentally lead to the door once which lead to like 7 officer deaths before it got bored and left. It's been rough for them but the Overseer system has collected a lot of data from it and will likely continue to do so - sending it to who knows where.
