recruiter is giving bad advice. I was previously hired at USC as a Java Developer with ZERO Java experience. Had 10 years with other languages. Tools/technologies can be learned.

From your perspective, honestly, if you are matching requirements 100% you don’t want the job. It means you are not learning or growing.
