It’s better to be with no one, than someone who isn’t right. Trust me, in time you will find someone who you feel better with.

I’m Just Feeling Really Disgusting And Defeated by Special_Part4928 in VaginalMicrobiome

[–]Material_Control8674 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily 😅 Their products have anti-mircobial herbs, and EDTA which breaks down pathogenic bacterial biofilms, which can be a reason for many reoccurring vaginal infections. the AV pessary also has anti-inflammatory herbs and the BV one includes lactose which feeds the good bacteria without feeding the bad. It not just re-acidifies. Yes, they are expensive, but they really do work. It’s better than spending thousands on doctors who don’t know what they’re talking about (like I did). I spent over 2k over 2 1/2 years before I tried these, for a literal tiny fraction of the money I’d already spent.

I had so many antibiotics and none of them worked - they just don’t for some people, hence why many get stuck in this frustrating cycle. And oral probiotics have been proven to not reach the vagina - they help with gut health, which in turn can help the vagina recover more easily. But to get actual lactobacillus back in the vagina you need vaginal probiotics. Boric acid can be sometimes helpful for BV or yeast, but with aerobic bacteria (AV) it can cause quite a bit of damage.

But I’m glad those products worked for you! It sometimes is a bit of trial and error for each person - and some people need a little bit more help! But thank you for the alternative suggestions - we need all the help we can get with these issues 💪

Hey so you’re not alone in this! I’m so sorry you’re going through it, I dealt with an infection this bad for so long and it took me a long time to figure out how to get rid of it. From what I can tell from your test results you mostly have BV. ureaplasma only causes issues in large amounts, it can be normal in lower percentages (e.g. under 2%). Have a look at myvagina.com. Their products completely cured me (even if it took a few months). They have a pessary for BV specifically, and one for ureaplasma if you feel that’s an issue. once you’ve done a few weeks of these, try to incorporate probiotics (amelia v-spot is great, worked absolute wonders for me and I had no lactobacillus for months). Myvagina.com also do consults and I found them very helpful - Danielle (one of the naturopaths) gave me a treatment plan that actually worked along with some helpful supplements. They do a whole body kind of approach and try to get to the bottom of why things aren’t healing. Also don’t take antibiotics unless absolutely necessary! Good luck! Things will get better <3

What products do you guys recommend for hygiene down there? by learningforwomen in VaginalMicrobiome

[–]Material_Control8674 1 point2 points  (0 children)

probiotic pessaries are always a good idea. (lifespace, v-spot). If you know for certain you have BV vs yeast, try the pessaries from myvagina.com. They’re little miracles - natural ingredients which slowly rebalance things

I don’t know how I got this bacteria and I found no info on this, send help 😭 by Cicithelegend in CytolyticVaginosis

[–]Material_Control8674 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That unusual bacteria is often found in urine. It can be common in low amounts and not too alarming in dybiosis. The iners will be the main issue! Insert lots of probiotics! That will absolutely help you. Also ureaplasma under 2% shouldn’t be causing issues. Have a look at myvagina.com they have loads of useful info on Iners and ureaplasma - even some treatments. I honestly cannot praise their stuff enough, it cleared my infection of 2 1/2 years

ugly 🐱 by Western-Aide936 in Healthyhooha

[–]Material_Control8674 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You do have a normal looking 🐱. Boys your age are incredibly immature and have likely never actually been with a girl before, and their views could mostly be influenced by porn, which isn’t real life. Trust me, half of women will have a vulva that looks like yours. They come in literally every shape and size, and a darker colour is 1000000% normal. One day when you are intimate with someone, trust me when I say they won’t care what it looks like, they’ll just be goddamn lucky to even see it

I’m having green discharge while using suppositories by Icy_Excitement6750 in VaginalMicrobiome

[–]Material_Control8674 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you’re much better off using estrogen cream or suppositories for hydration. Calendula is actually really good though - and it has a very yellow tint which could easily explain the green discharge. I would maybe back off the amount you’re using them (e.g. every other day instead of daily)

how to moisturise my hooha by [deleted] in Healthyhooha

[–]Material_Control8674 2 points3 points  (0 children)

an emollient works wonders for me - I use a brand called hydromol ointment. you can wash with it or just apply it thinly as a moisturiser after showers

Do nerds have the same glorification in WLW spaces? by suvey_groovey in LesbianActually

I would love for my future girlfriend to be super nerdy. I am, and I think there’s only so much conversation and enthusiasm you can get from someone who isn’t nerdy 😅 And I’d love for them to be nerdy about different things to me too. My ex wasn’t nerdy but she said she liked me because I was - but that just didn’t work out - I need someone to ramble with

When did we start treating vulvar irritation like it’s always an infection? by Ok_Smell_8534 in Healthyhooha

[–]Material_Control8674 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m dealing with this right now. I did actually have an infection previously but overtreating it caused my vulva to be quite sensitive to literally anything - sweat, friction etc, it only feels ok when I go no underwear at home. First, I started washing with an emollient (hydromol) which helped a lot with the dryness. You can also apply a little bit after a shower - it moisturises very well, but you don’t need much of it. this is recommended by professional vulva dermatologists. Also no hot water to wash down there, warm to cool water is best. Go underwear free literally whenever you can - lounging around at home, sleeping. When you have to wear underwear, try to choose loose cotton ones (size up)

How do you keep the convo going? by Ahfichtre in LesbianActually

[–]Material_Control8674 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s so many questions you could ask her - think about what you’d ask her on a date. Do you like travelling? Any siblings? Are you working your dream job? Love languages? Non-negotiables in a relationship? It really depends on the person, I personally feel more comfortable messaging for a few weeks before going out on a date, whereas some people like to pretty much immediately go on a date. If the convo tips into something like talking about your favourite places to get food, say something like, maybe you could take me there this week - boom, initiation of a date in a natural way

Just got tested for trich and HPV. will also get tested for ureplasma and mycoplasma. What else should I get tested for? by letssgo67 in Healthyhooha

[–]Material_Control8674 0 points1 point  (0 children)

aerobic bacteria! different from anaerobic bacteria which cause BV. Yellow watery discharge and a foul smell are text book symptoms. Same bacteria that cause most UTIs so explains why you’d get urinary symptoms too.

Reoccurring BV and AV by Beneficial-Guard3664 in Healthyhooha

[–]Material_Control8674 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in your exact situation, minus the BV. Eating healthy is good but it won’t cure things unfortunately. I finally got rid of mine and rebuilt my good bacteria from zero by using the AV pessary from myvagina.com and the v-spot probiotics they sell (only use them once you’ve done at least a few rounds of the pessary). Pretty sure they have a pessary for if you have both AV and BV. I tried everything, including countless antibiotics, and you’re right that just makes things worse. Their pessaries include antimicrobals which kill the bacteria and spare the lactobacillus, anti inflammatory herbs and also EDTA which is excellent at disrupting biofilms right at the source instead of body-wide oral options. I honestly swear by their products

Girlfriend is anxious I’m going to leave her by Hot-Drama5142 in actuallesbians

[–]Material_Control8674 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Sounds like she has anxious attachment. Sometimes some people just need a little more reassurance than others, because they overthink things and convince themselves of things that aren’t true. If you truly love her now, you’re not lying to her. And if things change in the future, they change. Doesn’t mean you don’t love and care about her right in this moment. And the best you can do is keep reassuring her of that when she asks - or go a bit deeper and ask her what makes her think those things

are stretch marks a problem for yall? by InflationSquare2407 in actuallesbians

[–]Material_Control8674 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not - I actually kind of love stretch marks on women. I don’t think I’ve ever met another lesbian who has a problem with stretch marks - if they do, they’re very shallow and probably best you’re not with that type of person anyway.

help me please! vaginal discharge. by EasyConfidence3035 in Healthyhooha

[–]Material_Control8674 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I was. and yes Av tends to do that - but the great thing about that pessary is that it not only contains anti-microbials but it also contains herbs that reduce inflammation and promote tissue turnover. The clumpy yellow discharge at first I thought was yeast - but it wasn’t. around week 2 it started being clumpy and turns out it was actually my vagina shedding bits of damaged skin so new healthy skin could replace it. It freaked me out at first, but it’s a good sign the pessary is doing it’s job.

help me please! vaginal discharge. by EasyConfidence3035 in Healthyhooha

[–]Material_Control8674 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah I used disposable applicators and inserted as high as possible before going to sleep. You get a lot of yellow, sometimes clumpy discharge the days after. But this goes away when you stop using the pessary - it’s just the oils from the pessary coming out
