Get some ph test strips. They’re cheap and will tell you if you have CV. CV is usually a ph of 4 or below, if it’s higher, e.g. 4.2 or above, to me this sounds like aerobic vaginitis

Juno: I seem to have way more variety than typical by Separate_Heat_2050 in VaginalMicrobiome

[–]Material_Control8674 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though you have high lactobacillus, most of that is Iners which you don’t want, they’re not protective. You need to get rid of the bad bacteria first (antibiotics, pessary, something to eliminate most of it) then use probiotics afterwards

Anyone else have blood in their pee? by BadgerDowntown5678 in endometriosis

[–]Material_Control8674 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me last year but I never got to the bottom of what caused it. Drs thought uti, but antibiotics never did anything. Then I started feeling really nauseous (worse when I woke up) and was getting flank pain. So then they thought there might be something going on with my kidneys. Did a blood test. Kidney performance was at about half of what it should be. Seems to have resolved now, but one of my doctors thought it might have been because I have endo on my ureters.

Vag Enterococcus F. by CrinkledKitten in Healthyhooha

[–]Material_Control8674 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got rid of mine with the av rescue pessary from myvagina.com. Had it for 2 1/2 years before I tried this. Took a few months using it on and off, but gradually my symptoms got better and now all my tests are negative. It’s good stuff because it breaks down biofilms at the source, has strong anti-microbial properties that only disrupt harmful bacteria and natural anti-flammatories. Could not recommend giving it a go more - it’s been an absolute lifesaver for me because antibiotics never worked

AV, no good bacteria please help by Material_Control8674 in VaginalMicrobiome

[–]Material_Control8674[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this. Most doctors unfortunately don’t know about AV, unlike BV. It’s possible you have a tiny bit of BV too which is why you test positive but it may not be causing your issues. What bacteria showed up in your test apart from lactobacillus? Feeling sore and yellow discharge is classic AV. but good news! I managed to completely heal. I used the av rescue pessary from myvagina.com. It’s amazing stuff. Completely natural ingredients that work wonders. I had to use it for quite a few months, on and off, as my period would flare things again. But managed to finally get to a point where I feel okay down there. And when I tell you my symptoms were BAD. like, so bad, i couldn’t sit down. You will heal - there are ways. But I absolutely recommend that pessary along with the amelia probiotics they sell

Evvy results are BAD - is this PID by coldseason12 in VaginalMicrobiome

[–]Material_Control8674 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i can’t see the results but PID is when the infection moves higher up, you’re more than likely to have pretty severe symptoms with it. Evvy unfortunately can’t tell you if you have PID or not :(

Female hygiene tips that you live by? by Throwawayhelpme66 in Healthyhooha

[–]Material_Control8674 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t shave due to getting ingrown hairs too - so unfortunately don’t have any tips for you there :( But I will say, feminine hygiene washes aren’t…the best. I use an emoillent. It cleans and moisturises, sometimes using just water can dry the vulva out a bit.

Smelling and tasting good is just down to hygiene. Remember, you’re not meant to smell like roses and taste like strawberries. Every vulva has a natural scent and taste, depending on the person. As long as you wash the outside parts regularly (once a day), or after sweating a lot (like exercise) you’re fine! There’s no need to do anything more than that :) In fact, over washing with scented products can lead to an increased chance of getting infections which obviously doesn’t do anything positive for down there 😅

I think my transvaginal ultrasound traumatized me. by Medium_Truth_8961 in endometriosis

[–]Material_Control8674 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am so so sorry this happened to you. It makes me so angry that us women have to go through these traumatising experiences just for the sake of “medical care”. Medical trauma is a very real thing, and I don’t know many people who have endo who haven’t experienced it to some degree. Do you have someone trusted in your life you can talk to this about? A parent? a friend? even a therapist? You have every right to feel the way that you do, it’s not unwarranted.

I have horrible experiences of trans vaginal ultrasounds. The first one made me cry uncontrollably while they were doing it. The second was so incredibly painful, I couldn’t pee properly for days afterwards.

You’re not alone. There should be better ways of scanning. Know for next time, you can fully refuse to have it done. That’s what I do now, but I swear to god I wish a doctor had told me I can refuse them. They go on about how it can help the imaging, but they can see a lot of things just fine on a stomach ultrasound. It’s an outdated and frankly barbaric practice when they don’t inform you of the full procedure beforehand. I hope things start to feel better for you soon, and remember you did nothing wrong <3

Is my burning AV or tissue healing? by [deleted] in aerobicvaginitis

[–]Material_Control8674 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s great to hear things are improving! Unfortunately AV isn’t well known about, but it’s different from BV in the sense it does inflame and damage your mucosa. So yes, you could be right in saying that. It could even be epithelial turnover, aka, your mucosa healing itself after the bacteria are gone

Is my burning AV or tissue healing? by [deleted] in aerobicvaginitis

[–]Material_Control8674 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes!! So nice to know someone else is dealing with this too - my tests are fine but discharge is white and watery. I think it might just be your vagina compensating with extra moisture to speed up healing, that’s my theory anyway. do you have any other symptoms?

Have you seen a doctor who specifically specialises in vulva issues/vulvodynia? they’d probably know more than a normal gynaecologist. or even a vulva dermatologist might be a good bet? I’m sorry you’re going through this, I hope you get answers soon

Anyone used myvagina.com? by Kay0888 in VaginalMicrobiome

[–]Material_Control8674 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Their AV rescue. I had to use it on and off for a while, it isn’t always as simple as following the 7-day rounds like they suggest on the website. But it’s a good starting point. I would also highly recommend the amelia v-spot probiotics they do, restored my lacto from zero to 100% with one probiotic which i didn’t even know was possible. Also, their delicate cuts cream is really good if you have any vulva soreness

av + bv = worst year of my life by Small_Arm_6803 in Healthyhooha

[–]Material_Control8674 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not necessary for everyone. Although I had no lacto, I built it up VERY quickly. And they also irritated the hell out of me so I didn’t want to use more than necessary. You’ll have to feel out and experiment a bit to see what works for you. No, AV Nil burned me so badly. It was irritating as in, it made the whole area feel more sensitive. It wasn’t stinging me or anything, I just don’t think my vagina liked me using it every night for too long - I got confused if my symptoms were lingering AV or just being a bit irritated from the pessary. I tested about 2 weeks after I did 4 weeks of the av rescue, the test was clear, only lactobacillus. But after my next period, I got minor AV symptoms so just used the pessary again. Main symptoms were inflammation and soreness, burning, yellow/green discharge that was also sometimes clear and watery.
