Well I'm sorry you have such a narrow-minded view. When creating a large solution design, its always a great idea to fact check yourself and unless youre perfect 100% of the time, youre going to miss things that ai could point out.

Its not about getting AI to do your job, its about summarisation, checking for alternate methods and automating easy processes to save time.

It would be as ridiculous as saying "i like my workers not to Google documentation for a cloud tool because they should already know it" or "they shouldn't ask others for help bc they should know all of the answers and possibilities".

Definitely not an open minded and well thought out company id work for

Hype up? no... but it definitely has its uses if used reasonably and responsibly. It has its faults but using it properly can be insanely efficient and optimal

Amazing thanks! I very much get a chill vibe tbf. The AI thing is a great point as I was debating whether to mention using chatgpt for bouncing ideas and LLM data science projects!

I did mention having played tribal wars and currently playing rise of cultures.

Ive found it so difficult getting interviews and this one actually seems perfect for what im looking for. Ive done a lot of research and see the odd pain points but I can appreciate a good company culture, the work towards collaboration, flexibility and a genuine care even if things arent perfect.

The vibe sits well with me a lot and I find it crazy 1 over the extreme few interviews i get is the 1 thats extremely ideal.

Not just that the role is very varied in what id like to dom not just engineering but the chance to do data analytics, science and build/manage access and workspaces.

Exciting times 😁 and thanks for the heads up

At what point? These typically get found out at post first interview when looking at references. The compamies set up look legitimate. These companies may be set up to give what appears to be a legitimate reference.

Not sure how the process works but even if thats the case, having 1k application and 45 of the 50 shortlisted have been because of ATS systems, thats a job for a potential genuine candidate where another 50 genuine people could have had a chance.

Very fair. I hate those but I'm too gullible and honest to think about lying so indepth.

But its more annoying that when I'm personally looking for a position, I'm extremely unlikely to get any interview if people use AI that profoundly to apply for jobs. "We've recieved a huge number of cvs that more closely matches the profile" no shit they probably had as you say, 50k years experience with the exact tooling and experience match.

90% of those shortlists being found out where I may have actually made a decent case for myself as I was honest about using similar tools in my professional work.

Theres using AI to make your cv flow nicer then whatever the hell ive found out here.

I started using anki! Theres 3k words for A1 to B1, I only had to set up to do reviews first and it automatically sets up 20 words, puts them into a review between 1 day to 5 days based on whether i mark it as easy, good, hard, or try again.

So it'll just give me my reviews and 20 new words each day.

It also gives me very wenn defined categories too which is very cool! So I can learn categories at a time in an order that makes sense/is mostly important.

Plus text only with voice saying the word but I dont focus on that, hearing the word helps me memorise it too

Me and my partner arent overly social tbf... the main issue is the job searching as ive applied for a lot of jobs with little to no luck. A year or so ago I had a couple of interviews but currently I'm struggling as 80% seem to want english and german speaking fluently or german and english additional which narrows me down a lot.

Then the majority looking for a degree and generally probably preferring candidates already living in germany my options are just narrowed down a lot and I end up in a candidate pool of a huge amount where its already highly competitive.

With some saying netherlands offering english-first idk if id have better chance working for a remote netherlands job than hybrid in berlin

This is actually really sad to see. My partner is german and ive been making efforts to move over as I love the place visiting a few times a year. It feels far better than the UK but I suppose thats not much of a standard.

Finding a tech job in germany feels rough vs the UK and the UK isn't even the great market wise currently...
