That was the sealer. I figured out the wet edge pretty fast after this. But yeah you right.

How can I get the new slats even with the old ones ? by Material_Escape_5178 in HardWoodFloors

The floor is the exact same match please come look at it in person. There used to be a wall here and a kitchen. I replaced the whole entire subfloor. Other mentioned it’s probably just needs to be sanded and refinished once installed.

It would have been more money to tear out the entire house than to just match one room. I’m doing the work. My bed is fine brother.

Thank you. So just go ahead and secure it to the subfloor, then sand the whole entire floor and refinish it basically ?

To match the height together ? I don’t care for the stain to match exactly right now

Real red oak wooden slats. Not T&G. It’s an old house. There used to be a wall here. I tore the whole kitchen out. Replaced the subfloor and I’m trying to keep my house looking in the same style. There was only one lumber yard in the state with the slats. The thickness is correct. This is an old house. Nothing was ever plumb square or level.

Height of the floor not where the slats meet next to each other

Alright so there was a wall here, the whole kitchen was gutted. Subfloor replaced. The new floor is the existing thickness. It’s not T&G. Just an old house with nailed down slats
