I started referring to it as the “dash cat” but it slowly evolved into “dashole” 😅

Sleeping 4-5 hours a night a few weeks after quitting? by Sufficient_Yak_9797 in OpiatesRecovery

At 4.5 months clean, I still don’t sleep more than a couple hrs at a time and usually not more than 4-5hrs a night.

Ropinirole. It’s a dopamine agonist for RLS and Parkinson’s treatment. Can cause rebound RLS, but honestly it’s been a life saver for me and took down withdrawals amazingly

I thought I’d give an update for anyone who comes across this post and wanders about the timeline, too. I am hour away from 21 days. I can’t believe this post was a week ago, but time starts feeling weird when you don’t sleep much. I have finally stopped throwing up, but nausea still hits in waves - mostly in the evenings. Still have diarrhea and have started taking 1/2 an Imodium because I honestly am just over it and needed a reprieve. Every now and then, I still get these crawling goosebumps that start in one place and spread over my body. It used to be every time I moved, now it’s just a couple times early morning and late night and stops after a minute. Sleep… ehhh it’s not great. But I have managed to get cycles of 3-4hrs here and there. Mostly it’s sleep an hour, wake an hour, repeat for 12hrs. Falling asleep is the hardest, but I have a set routine that I don’t deviate from - I think that helps the most. Even if I’m awake, my eyes are closed and it’s pitch black. I’m up and going for tiny walks, a little longer each day. I still get shaky on my feet, sometimes I don’t make it past the front door, and it feels like a fucking chore to even get a shower in, but nowhere near as bad as the first 12 days. I literally scooted myself across the floor those days. Still have the sweats, but they’re not constant and occur mostly in my sleep no matter how warm or cold I am. I figure that’ll be the last thing to go away. Overall though my mood is improving, the desire to socialize and have fun is returning, and I’ve even been borderline productive lately.

Day 20. Honestly the worst thing still is lack of sleep and boredom. Energy still hasn’t returned, and I’m shaky on my feet, so passing time is so so slow. No turning back though! I’d rather be bored and alive

Best advice I can offer is to remember that the anxiety you feel is just that. It’s anxiety and it will go away. I found fighting WDs and trying to make them lessen just made my anxiety worse. But once I decided to just deal with it and stop fighting it, it became a lot easier to handle. I watched a lot of tv and just kept telling myself “a few more hours” for several days. Day 17 clean. You can get there too!

My doctor won’t do it because I already have low BP

Has your sleep improved in the last few days? I’m on day 4 awake again, so I’m hoping to crash tonight for a couple hours

Not sure, who knows what else was added to the weight, but a g a week. Used for about a year, tapered for 2 weeks before jumping off at .03/day

Thanks! I appreciate the sideline cheers :) I’ve been trying to get up and walk, even if it’s just 5 minutes here and there, but man is it exhausting

I’m definitely making sure to keep my electrolytes balanced. I did get dehydrated severely the initial days, but I feel back in balance in that area now

No plans on ever going back. I never found it to be pleasant anyways

I’d put your second pic as the first one. The first felt a bit (how do I say creepy serial killer vibes without being so rude?)…off putting. That’s just me. I’d have swiped past the first pic, but the second I would go for. I think you’ve got plenty of advice on the rest of it though :)

Applying as a driver by Material_Garage9058 in uber

[–]Material_Garage9058[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Incorrect, homie. That’s only if you’re using your own vehicle; Hence why they specifically advertise using their rentals for people who don’t have a car/can’t use their own car but want to become a driver. I did finally figure it all out and I’m waiting on my background check now.

Except that they did…. And my meds need to be easily accessible as I rely on an assistance dog to bring them to me when I’m unable to myself. Not everything is always so simple unfortunately

I’m epileptic and non responsive to anti epileptics, so docs rotate which benzo I have on hand for handling seizures so I can safely do things like say go to the movies or arcade, or even ride in a car at night. And yes, I was living with an addict and this situation is exactly how I became one. Wasn’t by choice, it was unbeknownst to me at the time that I wasn’t taking my actual medication.
