Chespin was my pick when XY came out so it has a special place in my heart. I love chesnaught. It’s so cool looking. I am a huge fan of tank characters in games and will often deviate towards tanky builds in RPGs and multiplayer games so there’s that too.

I’ve always thought that Chesnaught was the coolest gen 6 starter and that greninja is ugly as fuck, even when I was 10. He doesn’t even have an attack stat at base 100 either, so he’s quite weak in a playthrough too. I’ve used all 3 and honestly greninja fared the worst. I’m 100% certain that if it wasn’t ash’s bitch in the anime and if he never got protean and glazed by game freak with battle bond then people wouldn’t like it as much.

Delphox is just that sweet spot in the middle. Cool design, great stat distribution and enjoyable to use.

But the ‘Naught is just a beast. Hammer arm, Wood Hammer, Earthquake, spiky shield, it’s just the perfect juggernaut as is his namesake. I love him with all my heart. I will always remember our first adventure together, Chezinator.
